    设计说明

    本课通过谈论毕业离校的时间和现在的生活状况等导入本课的话题毕业典礼。快速阅读短文,掌握短文的主旨大意;精读短文,把握文中的细节信息,能够回答相关的问题。掌握短文中出现的重点词汇,能够正确运用。最后,通过课堂达标训练,检测学生对本课时所学知识的掌握和能力的养成情况。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    (1)单词:gentleman, graduation, ceremony, congratulate, thirsty, thankful,  lastly, task, ahead, responsible, separate, wing

    (2)短语:first of all, be thirsty for, be thankful to sb., ahead of, along with, be responsible for, set out, separate from

    (3)句型: Thank you for…

    ②Never fail to be thankful to the people around you.

    2.能力目标

    (1)能够朗读短文,理解短文的内容;

    (2)能够掌握并运用所学的知识点。

    3.情感目标

    让学生学会感恩老师、父母和同学。

    重点难点

    重点:本课时的重点单词、短语、句型;短文的朗读

    难点:新学知识的灵活运用

    教学过程

    Step 1 Lead-in

    Begin the class with thinking about and answering the questions.

    1. How many days are left before you leave school?

    2. What time do you go to bed every night?

    3. Do you have any time to do outdoor exercise?

    Step 2 Warming up

    Work on 2a.

    Get the students to work in pairs. Discuss: What is the most important thing you have learned in junior high school?

    Step 3 Reading

    Fast reading

    Work on 2b.

    Ask the students to read the passage and answer the questions.

    1. What kind of text is this? Is it a story, a speech or a notice?

    2. Who do you think wrote it?

    3. Who is it for?

    Answers: 1. It is a speech.

    2. The principal of the school is probably the person who wrote it.

    3. It is for the graduates of the school.

    Careful reading

    Work on 2c.

    Read the passage again and answer the questions.

    1. Read the questions carefully first.

    1. What were the students like in Grade 7? 

    2. How have the students changed?

    3. Who should the students thank and why?

    4. What will senior high be like?

    5. How should the students deal with the future?

    6. What advice would you give to students who are just starting junior high school?

    2. Read the passage and find out the answers to the questions.

    3. Check answers by answering each question.

    Answers: 1. They were all so full of energy and thirsty for knowledge.

    2. They are now talented young adults who are full of hope for the future.

    3. They should thank the important people in their lives—their parents, teachers and friends—because these are the people who have helped and supported them.

    4. Life in senior high will be harder and the students will have many difficult tasks ahead of them.

    5. They should learn from their mistakes and never give up, choose wisely and be responsible for their own decisions and actions, and not forget where they came from.

    6. Answers will vary.

    Step 4 Language points

    1. And yes, some of you were a little difficult to deal with! 是的,(那时)你们中有一些同学有点难以管理!

    deal with意为处理;对付,既可指处理或应对具体的人或事,也可以指解决具有抽象意义的问题。do with也可表示处理。注意,how通常与deal with连用,what常与do with连用。

    你打算如何处理这些旧报纸?

    2. …but the key is to learn from your mistakes and never give up. ……但重要的是你们要从错误中汲取教训,永不放弃。

    (1)动词不定式短语to learn from your mistakes在句中作表语。当主语是wish, dream, job, key, hobby等名词时,常用动词不定式(短语)作表语。

    My dream is to become a pilot.

    我的梦想是成为一名飞行员。

    (2) give up意为放弃,是一个动词+副词型短语,名词作宾语时,放在up前后均可,人称代词作宾语时,必须放在up之前。give up doing sth.表示放弃做某事

    Whatever you do, never give up.

    无论你做什么,永远不要放弃。

    When did your father give up smoking?

    你父亲什么时候戒烟的?

    Step 5 Post-reading

    Work on 2d.

    Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.

    1. Ask the students to read the words in the box. Make sure they know the meaning of the words.

     

     

    2. Read the sentences and fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words.

      1. It is time to say goodbye, but ______ of us want to leave.

      2. It is always hard to separate from those whom you have spent so much time with for the past three years. However, we are still excited to ______ on a new journey when we enter senior high school.

      3. The teacher can see in our eyes that we ______ knowledge. She tells us that knowledge will give us wings to fly.

      4. We will ______ the junior high graduation ceremony tomorrow. It is a very special time for us.

      5. Our teachers and parents will ______ us because we have grown up and can be responsible for ourselves.

    1. Ask the students to underline the sentences they like in the passage.
