    Lesson 25: I Want to Be a Teacher!

     

    设计说明

    首先,让学生说出与职业相关的英语单词,借此熟悉各种职业,导入新课。通过图片及句子语境,学习本课生词及短语。学习新课,听录音回答问题;完成与对话相关的思维导图,明确对话的关键信息。提取对话中的重要短语和句子,进行翻译。在深入学习对话的基础上,学生进行分角色扮演,积极参与课堂活动。接下来,完成与对话相关的练习,由此检验学生对所学内容的理解能力。另外,完成有关未来设想的对话,这既能检验学生已学技能,又能为后面的小组调研做好准备。小组活动,调研组内同学长大后想做什么工作,并进行汇报,提供语言运用的机会。讲解课文中的重难点,巩固所学英语知识。最后,通过当堂检测,检验学生对本课节的掌握情况。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:might, scientist, grow, engineer       

    短语和句型:give a talk, be nice to, grow up

    Its+adj.+to do sth.

    2.能力目标

    (1)能够读懂、听懂有关未来工作的对话;

    (2)能够用英语表达自己的工作愿望。

    3.情感目标

    逐渐对自己的未来有更充分的认识。主动思维,大胆表述,提高语言的实际运用能力。

    重点难点

    1.重点掌握本课节的重点单词、短语、句型等。

    2.难点(1)能够读懂、听懂有关未来工作的对话;

    (2)能够用英语表达自己的工作愿望。

    Step 1  Warming up

    1. T: Do you know these jobs? How do we express them in English?

    教师 teacher                司机 driver

    医生 doctor                护士 nurse

    工人worker                厨师 cook

    运动员player              农民 farmer   

    面包师傅 baker            清洁工cleaner      

    图书管理员 librarian         警察policeman             

    商人 businessman          总裁 CEO        

    2. Ask the students to think.

     What are you good at?

     What would you like to do in the future?

    Step 2  Presentation  

    Show some pictures to teach the new words and phrases might, scientist, engineer, give a talk, be nice to, grow up.

    Albert Einstein did a lot in science. He was a great scientist. If you are interested in science, you might be a scientist, too.         n. 科学家

    They help build many buildings and bridges. They are engineers.

    The teacher is nice to his students. You can become a teacher like him when you grow up. He will give a talk to us.

    Step 3  Listening and answering

    1. Get the class to listen to the recording.

    2. Before listening, ask them to look through the following questions first.

    (1) What are Li Ming and Wang Mei talking about?

    (2) What is Li Ming good at?

    (3) What does Li Ming hope to do? Why?

    (4) What does Wang Mei hope to be in the future? Why?

    3. Play the recording. Let them write down their answers. Play again for them to check their answers.

    4. Check the answers together.

    Answers: (1) Their future.

    (2) He is good at talking to people.

    (3) He hopes to be a teacher. Because he is good at talking.

    (4) She hopes to be a doctor like her mother. Because she wants to help sick children.

    Step 4  Reading and completing

    T: Read the lesson again. What do Li Ming and Wang Mei want to do in the future? Why? Complete the mind-map.

    Read the lesson and find the following phrases and sentences. Translate them into English.

    1. Role-play the conversation in pairs.

    1. Read the lesson and fill in the blanks. (Lets Do It! No. 2)

    Li Ming and Wang Mei are talking about the future. Li Ming doesn’t have any ______ about his future. He is good at talking to people so Wang Mei says he might be a _________. Li Ming hopes so. He would be _______ to his students. He wouldn’t give his students too much __________ on weekends. What might Wang Mei be when she ________ up? Li Ming gives her some suggestionsa __________, a _________ or an ____________. She hopes to be a __________. Each of them will have a good future.

    2. Let them check their answers in groups. Ask some groups to present their answers.

    3. Check the answers together.

    Step 8  Completing the dialogue

    1. Complete the dialogue with the sentences in the box. (Lets Do It! No. 3)

    B: Im going to be an English teacher.

    A: Why?

    B: Because Im good at English, and I like children very much.                  

    A: I want to be a childrens doctor.

    B: Why do you want to do that?

    A: Because I want to help sick children. They look very sad when they are sick.

    B:                   Youre going to be a very good children’s doctor, I think.

    A:                   Im sure youre going to be a good teacher.

    2. Check the answers.

    Step 9  Group work

    1. Let the students work in groups and make a survey about what they want to be when they grow up. Use the form below to help them.

    Step 10  Language points

    1. It’s hard sometimes to talk about the future.有时候谈论未来是很困难的。

    Its + adj. + to do sth. 做某事是……的。

    It’s interesting to play games with my brother.

    和我弟弟做游戏是很有趣的。

    It’s important to find a good way to do the work.

    找个好的方法做这项工作很重要。

    2. I have no idea. 我不知道。

    I have no idea.相当于I dont know. 意为“我不知道”。

    What time will the sports meeting begin?运动会将在什么时间开始?

    I have no idea. 我不知道。

    3. You gave a good talk to the students yesterday. 昨天你给学生们做了一个很好的报告。

    give a talk意为“做演讲;做报告”

    give a talk to sb.=give sb. a talk “给某人做演讲/报告”。

    I will give a talk to all the students in the school.

    我将在这所学校里给所有学生做一场报告。

    4. I hope to be a teacher. 我想成为一名老师。

    hope to do sth.希望做某事     hope + that 从句  希望……

    We hope to see you. 我们希望见到你。

    I hope that you can come to the party. 我希望你能参加聚会。

    5. I would be nice to my students.我会很好地对待我的学生。

    be nice to sb. = be good/kind/friendly to sb. 对某人好

    We should be nice to everyone. 我们应该善待每个人。

    6. You might be a scientist when you grow up. 你长大后可能会成为一名科学家。

    (1) might 情态动词,意为“可能,也许”。might用于请求或许可,比may委婉。might表推测时,可能性比may小。

    Where will you go on holiday?你们将去哪儿度假?

    I’m not sure. We might go to Qingdao. 我不确定。我们可能去青岛。

    (2) grow up长大;成长

    My daughter wants to be a scientist when she grows up.

    我女儿长大后想当一名科学家。

    Step 11  Homework

    1. Preview the words and expressions in Lesson 26.

    2. Write a passage about your future: Where will you live? What will your job be? Will you be happy? Why?
