Lesson 24: I Need a Map!
设计说明 首先通过向学生展示一些关于问路和指路的图片,并介绍其背后的故事,对学生进行思想品德教育,让学生明白帮助他人和学会感恩的重要性;然后教授本课节的生词,播放生词的录音,让学生学会标准发音。播放课文录音,让学生有目的地边听边完成Let’s Do It!活动1中的相应内容,锻炼学生听录音捕捉关键信息的能力。再次播放课文录音,让学生学会标准读音,并尽量模仿录音中的语音语调朗读,提升口语水平和朗读的流利度。然后进行Let’s Do It!活动2的内容,通过完成相应的词汇训练,提升对重要短语的运用能力。接下来在小组讨论环节,让学生根据提示进行小组讨论活动,合作解决问题,增加学习英语的趣味性并激发学生学习英语的自主性。最后进行写作训练,让学生给朋友写一封邮件,介绍自己住所的位置,提升语言输出的能力。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标: 掌握本课节新词汇:mile, across, have the flu, across from 了解本课节新词汇:flu 掌握本课节新句子:I’m doing well. 2.能力目标: 能够谈论处于新环境中的相关情况。 3.情感目标: 学会帮助他人,学会感恩。 重点难点 1.重点:学习本课节新词汇及重要表达,熟悉书信的格式。 2.难点:运用所学知识介绍在新环境中的生活情况。 教学准备 PPT课件;活动Read的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Show some pictures of heroes to the students and tell a short story.
Sam visited Shanghai for the first time. But he got lost when he walked around the city. Luckily, a man helped him. He showed him the right way, and Sam thanked him. 2. Tell the students the importance of helping others. Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Show the students new words and expressions and play the recording. flu /flu:/ n. 流行性感冒 mile /maɪl/ n. 英里 across /əˈkrɒs/ prep. 横过……;从……一边到另一边 I’m doing well. 我很好。 have the flu 感冒 across from 在对面;在对过 2. Ask the students to read aloud after the recording. Step 3 Listening 1. Play the recording for the students to listen to and ask them to answer the questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 1) 1. What did Jenny and Brain do on Monday? 2. How far is the school from Uncle David’s home? 3. What happened to Brain yesterday? 4. What will Brain do tomorrow? Why? 5. What did Brain do on Thanksgiving Day? 2. Ask one of the students to give the answers. 3. Check the answers together. Answers: 1. They walked to school on Monday. 2. It is about one mile from Uncle David’s home. 3. He got lost yesterday. 4. He will buy a map of the city because he doesn’t want to get lost again. 5. He met all of his Canadian cousins. Step 4 Reading 1. Play the recording for the students to listen to and repeat. 2. Get the students to read the text again and answer the following questions. (1) What can we see across from the bookstore? (2) How does Brian think of his life in the new neighbourhood? (3) What places do Jenny and Brian pass on their way to school? (4) Who helped Brian find the way? 3. Check the answers together. Answers: (1) A beautiful park. (2) It’s not very easy. (3) The bakery and the bookstore. (4) A lady. 4. Let the students read the article on Page 60 again and find out some key sentences and phrases. 5. Ask the students to find some difficult language points. 6. Let the students have a discussion about these difficult language points in groups of four. 7. Help the students explain these difficult language points. Step 5 Practice 1. Get the students to do Exercise 2 on Page 61. (Let’s Do It! No. 2) 2. Ask some of the students to give the answers. 3. Check the answers together. Ask some of the students to show their writings. 3. Correct the mistakes of the writings. Step 8 Language points 1. I’m doing well. 我很好。 常用于书信中来描述自己的近况。可以回答问句“How are you doing/going?”或“How are you getting along?”,意为“你过得怎么样?”。 —How are you doing these days? 这些天你过得怎么样? —I’m doing well. 我很好。 [拓展]类似的句子还有: —How’s everything going? 一切如何? —Everything goes well. 一切都好。 2. I have to tell you that I had the flu. 我得告诉你们我感冒了。 have the flu 患流感,感冒 He had the flu, but he still did well in the exam. 他虽然得了流感,但考得很好。[拓展]类似表示病情的短语还有: have a headache(头疼) have a cough(咳嗽) have a fever(发烧) have a stomachache(肚子疼) have a cold(患感冒) I’ve a bad cold. 我得了重感冒。 3. Across from the bookstore, there’s a beautiful park. 在书店的对面,有一个美丽的公园。 (1) across from 在……的对面 常用来描述位置关系,与opposite同义。 The square is across from the parking lot. 广场在停车场的对面。 She sat across from me. 她坐在我的对面。 (2) across prep.横过……;从……一边到另一边 He is swimming across the river. 他正游过那条河。 (3) 辨析:across, through与over across指从物体表面的一边到另一边 through指从物体的内部通过 over指从物体上方越过 She walks across the road. 她走过马路。 The boy is walking through the forest. 那个男孩正在穿过森林。 The plane flew over the house. 飞机飞过了房子。 4. What happened to Brian yesterday? 昨天布莱恩发生了什么事? happen v. 发生 ① Sth. happen(s)+地点/时间. 某地/某时发生了某事。 A traffic accident happened in the street yesterday. 昨天大街上发生了一起交通事故。 ② Sth. happen(s) to sb. 某人出了某事。 A car accident happened to him yesterday. 昨天他发生了车祸。 ③ 某人+happen(s) to do sth. 某人碰巧做某事。 I happened to meet her in the street. 我碰巧在街上遇见了她。 ④ It happens/happened+that从句. 碰巧······ It happened that I saw you on my way home. 碰巧我在回家的路上看到了你。 5. Go down this street until you reach the end of the street. 沿着这条街走直到你到达街道尽头。 until conj.直到······为止 until还可用作介词。until用于肯定句时,句子/主句的动词为延续性动词,表示动作直到until所表示的时间才结束。 She waits until the children are asleep. 她一直等到孩子们睡着。 I will stay here until twelve o’clock. 我将待在这里一直到12点钟。 [拓展] not...until... 直到……才…… 句子/主句的动词为非延续性动词,它所表示的动作直到until所表示的时间才发生。 You can’t leave until he comes. 直到他来了,你才能离开。 Step 9 Homework 1.
