Lesson 26: What Will I Be?
设计说明 提问李明和王梅长大后想做的工作及做这种工作的原因,带领学生回顾上节课所学内容。让学生自由交谈未来的工作,并说说原因,导入新课。呈现生词短语,可以借助图片让学生更容易接受,借助例句让学生在具体的语境中体会生词短语的意思。学生思考有关飞行员这一职业的问题,为课文学习做好铺垫。接下来进入课文学习:边听边填句子,听关键信息;读课文回答问题,以加深对课文的理解;给出课文中重要的短语,让学生尝试翻译出来;最后,给出课文的结构,让学生背诵课文。接下来,做有关Let’s Do It! No. 2的听力练习,了解赵磊关于自己未来的叙述,并能够正确判断句子正误。让学生练习重要词汇,完成 Let’s Do It! No. 3的练习。制作一份年报,激发学生对未来的想像力,该活动还能让学生在运用所学知识的过程中乐于表达自己的想法。接下来讲解本课的重难知识点,并进行当堂检测,查缺补漏。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:page, pilot, fear, height, model 接触单词:yearbook, airplane, overcome 短语:a fear of heights, stop…(from) doing…, take steps to… 2.能力目标 (1)能够读懂有关未来职业的文章; (2)能够听懂有关未来的语篇; (3)能够描写未来的打算。 3.情感目标 让学生认识自我,培养他们的自我规划能力。 重点难点 1.重点:本节课重点单词、短语。 2.难点:(1)能够读懂有关未来职业的文章; (2)能够听懂有关未来的语篇; (3)能够描写未来的打算。 教学准备 PPT 课件;有关生词短语讲解的图片;与本课节相关的音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Review and free talk 1. Ask the following questions to make them review what they have learnt in Lesson 25. (1) What will Li Ming be when he grows up? Why? (2) What will Wang Mei be when she grows up? Why? 2. Free talk. T: What would you like to be in the future? Why? Step 2 Presentation Teach the new words and phrases page, yearbook, airplane, fear, height, overcome, model, stop…(from) doing… and take steps to.
—What’s this? —It’s a yearbook. Here’s a page for the yearbook. n. 年刊;年报 n. 页 [Cultural tip] In many countries, students like to make yearbooks. A yearbook is a book that has pictures of all of the kids and teachers in your school. —Is it a real airplane ? —No , it’s a model plane. n. 飞机 n. 模型 —What do they do? —They are pilots. n. 飞行员 —The pilot is a cool job. But I have a fear of heights. a fear of heights恐高 fear n. & v.害怕;惧怕;担忧 height n.高度;身高 —That’s a problem. Will it stop you from being a pilot? If you want to be a pilot, 阻止……;防止…… you must overcome your fear. You can take small steps to overcome it. v. 克服;解决 take steps to do sth.采取措施做某事 Step 3 Thinking about it 1. Would you like to be a pilot? Why or why not? 2. Do you have a fear of heights? What will you do to overcome it? Step 4 Listening and filling Listen and fill in the blanks. 1. Get the class to listen to the passage and fill in the blanks. (1) Tiantian thinks being an airplane pilot is ________. (2) People travel to see their families, for _______ or just for fun. (3) Tiantian can take small steps to _______ her fear. (4) She likes building ________ planes. 2. Play the recording again for them to check the answers. 3. Let the students listen to the recording and read the text silently. 2. Ask some students to read the passage in front of the class. Task 2: Read and discuss 1. Read the lesson and answer the questions. Discuss in groups. (1) Is Tiantian sure about her future? (2) What would be a cool job in Tiantian’s opinion? Why does she think so? (3) What is Tiantian afraid of? (4) Do you like Tiantian’s idea for a new plane? Why? 2. Elicit answers by asking individual students to read the sentences out. Answers: (1) No, she isn’t. (2) An airplane pilot. Because she would help people travel all around the world. (3) She has a fear of heights. (4) Yes, I do. Because we would feel safer and more comfortable in her plane. How will your life be different than it is today? Include a photo or drawing of yourself. Then put all of the yearbook pages together and make a big class yearbook. Step 11 Language points 1. I have a fear of heights, but that won’t stop me from being a pilot. 我恐高,但是那不会阻止我成为一名飞行员。 (1)have a fear of =be afraid of意为“害怕,担忧”。have a fear of heights意为“恐高”。 I have a fear of being in small places. 我害怕置身于狭小的空间里。 I climbed the stairs to rescue you, but to tell you the truth, I have a fear of heights. 我爬上楼梯来救你了,不过实话告诉你,我恐高。 (2) height是名词,意为“高度;身高”。high是形容词,意为“高的”。the height of...意为“……的高度”。in height意为“在高度上,高达……”。 What are your height and weight? 你的身高和体重是多少?
