2022浙江高考英语总复习专题冲刺之七选五提高训练(七)ATake a Break from TechnologyIn today's world we are constantly surrounded by technology. It’s true to say that technology makes our lives easier. 1Otherwise we put ourselves at risk of developing hundreds of health problems. Over the summer the days are longer, sunnier and free from school. With all this free time, why not put it to good use and do something that doesn't involve technology?2There are hundreds of possibilities: crafts, cooking, learning a musical instrument or a new sport. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try out that recipe, but haven't had time? Perhaps you fancy learning how to knit, so you can have a new sweater for the autumn? You could use your free time to learn something new. 3If you just fancy relaxing, why not head to a beach? Take along your favourite book and relax on the sand or go for a walk along the coastline (just make sure you're aware of the tides!). If you don't live near a beach, you could go to your local park. 4Whatever you choose to do with your summer, try something new!5Also, you might make new friends along the way. Next time you find yourself aimlessly channel -hopping, have a think at what else you could spend your time doing.ATo start with, you could learn a new skill.BTechnology has become an important part of our lives.CAnd perhaps it’ll lead to an exciting opportunity in the future.DYou might surprise yourself and find a hidden talent within you.E.Why not take along a picnic, or try and identify some of the local wildlife?F.However, increasingly scientists are saying that we need to give ourselves a break.G.In our increasingly technology-driven world, have we become addicted to technology? B  Most smartphones allow you to run locationsharing software that uses the phone's GPS capability to let friends and family know your exact location. There are lots of great uses for this technology. 6 So make sure you're permitted to use an app or service, and pay attention to how you are using it. Here're some important points you may find helpful.Choose what's best for you. Some locationsharing services are games that let you give a shoutout when you've turned up at a particular spot. 7 Still others continue to share your location until you change the setting. Be sure you know exactly how your service shares your location.Know who your friends are. 8 This means people can search to see if you're online and add you as a friend. It's important to remember that sharing your location with people you've never met in real life is risky, so you should carefully manage friend requests and share your location only with people you know and trust.9 Some services automatically stop sending your location after a period of time, but others will send it forever — until you stop it. Review your contact list periodically and delete anyone to whom you no longer feel comfortable revealing your location.Update parents. Locationbased services are a great way for teens to let parents know where they are without having to call or text. 10 If you're heading home late at night, you can also use a service like Glympse to share your location as you drive, so they'll know if you have car trouble or get stuck in traffic.ACheck back often.BKeep sending your location.CHowever, these services are not for all children.DWith its help, you can easily share your location with them.E.Checkins ease worries so they don't have to follow your every move.F.Others show where you are all the time or for a period of time you set.G.Some location services operate like Facebook, where you invite and accept friends. CHow to Be a Pleasant PersonEach of us would love to be appreciated for the positive emotions that are exhibited around our surroundings. 11 The following steps will help you to be a pleasant person.12 Understand that we all are humans. You might be rich or poor, black or white, short or tall, etc. But above all we are all humans, which means we are all emotional beings. So treat others the way you would like to be treated.Be helpful. By offering a seat to an elderly person or throwing the football back to the young child, the inner self-satisfaction you get is priceless. Once you do so, you will feel good about yourself.Don’t regret. We all are reasonable beings and it is very human to do unreasonable things at times. However, it does not mean that we should regret what we did in the past. Every experience is a lesson which teaches you what to do and what not to do in future. 13Forgive and forget. Always living in the past will only make one painful on the inside, which will reflect on the outside. 14 By doing so, your heart becomes light.Be grateful. Thank God and the Universe for yourself, your parents, your friends, your clothes, jobs, food, home, etc. And every small thing makes a difference. 15 It will make you appreciate life.ABe inspired.BBe modest.CLittle do we know that it is not a hard task at all.DSo be proud that you have learnt a lesson on your own.E.To have a pleasant emotion around you, it is better to let go.F.If possible, express your gratefulness for something every day.G.Throw flowers at others if you wish flowers to be thrown at you. D  Bringing in and engaging diverse people in your organization requires awareness and preparation. When employees don't feel included, they're less engaged and productive. 16 That's why some leaders are concluding that what they've been doing isn't working. This is a result of bringing people in but not supporting them as full participants in the organization. This is where inclusion comes in.17 When a workplace is truly inclusive, everyone feels like they are valued and their needs are being considered. There's a place, for example, to be a working mother without feeling like you have to apologize or explain that you need to balance work and parenting.Companies that are good for working moms are also good for humans. 18 They want to be part of companies that readily acknowledge people have priorities outside of work and recognize this does not mean they're any less productive or less committed.Although companies have talked for decades about trying to develop a sense of inclusion for working moms, very little has changed. 19 They have to handle questions about limitations such as a lack of time, commitment, and focus.Working moms are valuable employees who we should actively guide and promote. They bring a lot to the table. In fact, a productivity study of highly skilled workers in 2014 found that parents were more productive than those who were not parents. 20Professional cultures that make employees feel included are places where employees can do their best work, individually and on teams. These cultures experience higher engagement because people are well-positioned to stay for the long term.AInclusion means being aware that each person is unique.BBuilding a culture of inclusion is about thinking long term.CMothers often still have to defend themselves in the workplace.DBeing a working parent makes it harder to advance in their future.E.They're not happy and will eventually leave for a better environment.F.Working moms seek out companies with better support and understanding.G.Mothers of two or more children were considered the most productive in the study. E  You may want to start paying attention to supermarket shelves because they are changing rapidly. Soon, when you walk by a shelf filled with produce, it may have electronic labels, personalized advertisements, RFID (radio frequency identification reader) technology and IOT (internet of things) sensors. Smart shelves with digital displays are coming to more supermarkets as paper labels are replaced with advanced technology.Electronic labels will replace all the paper labels which announce the prices. 21 Electronic labels display prices, advertisements, nutritional data, coupons and videos. Imagine standing in front of a milk display and instantly comparing nutritional information among different brands while getting a flashing coupon that you scan with your phone.22 For example, sensors installed in the shelves can tell when you approach them, so they can show you a deal on the same bread you purchased last week. Additionally, if you use a store's app to create a shopping list, the smart shelves can interact with the list and show you where to find the items you want.RFID usually has a tag that can transmit and receive data.23In supermarkets, RFID technology can help retailers manage. RFID tags can alert store assistants when the shelves are empty and need restocking or when someone has put the wrong items on a shelf.IOT sensors have many potential uses in a supermarket. 24 The sensors can check temperatures in freezers and cases to make sure they are correct. They can also collect data from smart shelves. The technology can help supermarkets understand which products appeal to consumers and can affect how stores arrange items on display.25 From digital displays that show instant price changes to advertisements linked to your shopping list, you can expect the technology to become more personalized.AOne of the most basic is temperature control.BSmart shelves will change how you shop in the future.CSmart shelves can interact with apps on a customer's smartphone.DThey can automatically scan your purchases and make shopping faster.E.It uses radio waves to identify items and transmit information about them.F.They will make it easier to change the prices in an entire store within minutes.G.Some consumers will share their personal information and purchase history to score a deal.  F While some workplace stress is normal, too much stress can affect your physical and mental health. 26 Luckily, there are steps you can take to keep the workplace madness to a minimum.Work on one thing at a time. Work stress sometimes arises from pressure to finish everything at the same time. Today's office worker actually changes tasks an average of three minutes. 27 Rather, it is tiring, inefficient and highly stressful. So, instead of constantly checking E-mails, having two or three documents open on your computer screen, focus on one thing at a time.28 Here's a good one: write a check to an organization you hate, put it in a stamped, addressed envelope and tell a trusted friend to post it if you fail to meet an important deadline or complete a vital task. Or give the friend something you really treasure and let your friend give it back to you only if you achieve your goal.Keep a work journal. This is a journal you keep in your desk drawer (preferably locked). Write in it whenever you feel your temper rising, your anxiety growing, or your hopelessness increasing. In it, you can write all the things you'd like to say to the boss/client/colleague so you get it out of your system without losing your job. 29Plan ahead of time. When work is challenging, devote some of your spare time-weekends and evenings-to writing down a series of tasks you will have to finish. Make a list, place boxes next to each item and tick off the boxes as you move through the list. 30 As a result, you'll be more efficient in your work and become less stressed.AKeep an inspiration wall.BBe creative in improving your motivation.CFill it with brochures of places you'd like to visit.DYou'll avoid forgetting anything and stay focused on the job.E.Working on several things at a time might seem impressive, but it isn't.F.It can even mean the difference between success and failure on the job.G.It will also help you understand what it is about your job that really drives you crazy. 1上文“In today's world we are constantly surrounded by technology. It's true to say that technology makes our lives easier(在当今世界,我们一直被科技所包围。科技使我们的生活更容易,这是事实)说明科技给我们带来好处,下文“Otherwise we put ourselves at risk of developing hundreds of health problems. Over the summer the days are longer, sunnier and free from school. With all this free time, why not put it to good use and do something that doesn't involve technology?(否则我们就会把自己置于数百种健康问题的危险之中。 F“However, increasingly scientists are saying that we need to give ourselves a break.(然而,越来越多的科学家表示,我们需要让自己休息一下)符合语境。故选F2下文“There are hundreds of possibilities: crafts, cooking, learning a musical instrument or a new sport. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try out that recipe, but haven't had time? Perhaps you fancy learning how to knit, so you can have a new sweater for the autumn?(有成百上千的可能性:手工艺、烹饪、学习一种乐器或一项新的运动。 A“To start with, you could learn a new skill.(首先,你可以学习一项新技能)符合语境,下文提到的“crafts, cooking, learning a musical instrument or a new sport”等,就是新技能的举例说明。故选A3上文“Maybe you’ve always wanted to try out that recipe, but haven't had time? Perhaps you fancy learning how to knit, so you can have a new sweater for the autumn? You could use your free time to learn something new.(也许你一直想尝试一下这个食谱,但一直没有时间? C“And perhaps it’ll lead to an exciting opportunity in the future.(也许这会在将来带来一个令人兴奋的机会)符合语境,与上文句式相同,andperhaps是关键词。故选C4上文“If you just fancy relaxing, why not head to a beach? Take along your favourite book and relax on the sand or go for a walk along the coastline (just make sure you're aware of the tides!). If you don't live near a beach, you could go to your local park.(如果你只想放松一下,为什么不去海滩呢? E“Why not take along a picnic, or try and identify some of the local wildlife?(为什么不去野餐,或者尝试辨认一些当地的野生动物呢?)符合语境,其中“Why not take along”与上文一致。故选E5上文“Whatever you choose to do with your summer, try something new!(不管你夏天选择做什么,尝试一些新的东西吧!) 下文“ Also, you might make new friends along the way. Next time you find yourself aimlessly channel -hopping, have a think at what else you could spend your time doing.(同时,你可能会在这个过程中交到新朋友。 D“You might surprise yourself and find a hidden talent within you.(你可能会让自己惊讶,发现你隐藏的才能)符合语境,hidden talent呼应上文的something new。 6空前一句“There are lots of great uses for this technology.”提到手机定位装置很有用,空后一句“So make sure you're permitted to use an app or service, and pay attention to how you are using it.” 7根据空前一句“Some locationsharing services are games that let you give a shoutout when you've turned up at a particular spot. 及空后一句“Still others continue to share your location until you change the setting.(还有一些继续分享你的位置,直到你改变设置。)” 符合语境,F项中的Others与上文Some及下文Still others呼应。故选F项。8根据空后一句“This means people can search to see if you're online and add you as a friend.(这意味着人们可以通过搜索查看你是否在线,并添加你为好友。)” 9空处是段落主题句,根据本段中“Some services automatically stop sending your location after a period of time, but others will send it forever—until you stop it. 故选A项。10根据空前一句“Locationbased services are a great way for teens to let parents know where they are without having to call or text.(基于位置的服务是一个对青少年很好的方式,让父母知道他们在哪里,而不用打电话或发短信。)” 11由上一句“Each of us would love to be appreciated for the positive emotions that are exhibited around our surroundings.”(我们每个人都希望自己被周围所展现出的积极情绪所萦绕。)和下一句“The following steps will help you to be a pleasant person.”(以下步骤将帮助你成为一个令人愉快的人。) 由下四句“Understand that we all are humans. You might be rich or poor, black or white, short or tall, etc. But above all we are all humans, which means we are all emotional beings. So treat others the way you would like to be treated.”(明白我们都是人。 13由上一句“Every experience is a lesson which teaches you what to do and what not to do in future.”(每一次经历都是一个教训,教你将来该做什么,不该做什么。) 14由上两句“Forgive and forget. Always living in the past will only make one painful on the inside, which will reflect on the outside.”(原谅和忘记。 和下一句“By doing so, your heart becomes light.”(这样做,你的心就会变得光明。) 下文的doing so就指代选项中的let go。 Thank God and the Universe for yourself, your parents, your friends, your clothes, jobs, food, home, etc. And every small thing makes a difference.”(心存感激。 16根据上文“Bringing in and engaging diverse people in your organization requires awareness and preparation. When employees don't feel included, they're less engaged and productive.(在你的组织中引入和吸引不同的人需要意识和准备。 故E选项她们不开心,最终会离开去更好的环境符合语境,故选E17根据后文“When a workplace is truly inclusive, everyone feels like they are valued and their needs are being considered. There's a place, for example, to be a working mother without feeling like you have to apologize or explain that you need to balance work and parenting.(当一个工作场所真正具有包容性时,每个人都会觉得自己受到了重视,他们的需求也得到了考虑。 故A选项包容意味着意识到每个人都是独一无二的符合语境,故选A18根据上文“Companies that are good for working moms are also good for humans.(对职场妈妈好的公司对其他人也好)”以及后文“They want to be part of companies that readily acknowledge people have priorities outside of work and recognize this does not mean they're any less productive or less committed.(他们希望自己的公司能够承认员工在工作之外也有优先考虑的事情,并意识到这并不意味着他们的工作效率低下或工作投入少)”可知,上文提到对职场妈妈好的公司对其他人也好,后文则提到某一种员工希望自己的公司能够承认员工在工作之外也有优先考虑的事情,可推测本句是在说明职场妈妈希望公司给予自己的理解和支持,F选项中Working moms对应上文中working moms,同时下文中的They 指代的是Working moms。故F选项职场妈妈们会寻找能给予公司更好的支持和理解符合语境,故选F19根据上文“Although companies have talked for decades about trying to develop a sense of inclusion for working moms, very little has changed.(尽管几十年来,各大公司一直在谈论如何为职场妈妈培养一种包容感,但几乎没有什么变化)”以及后文“They have to handle questions about limitations such as a lack of time, commitment, and focus.(他们必须处理有关限制的问题,如缺乏时间、承诺和注意力)”可知,上文提到如何为职场妈妈培养一种包容感几十年来没有过变化,后文则提到了职场妈妈需要处理的一些问题,可推测母亲们在工作场所还是仍然需要保护自己,下文中的They 指代的就是选项中的CMothers ,故C选项在工作场所,母亲们仍然常常要保护自己符合语境,故选C20根据上文“Working moms are valuable employees who we should actively guide and promote. They bring a lot to the table. In fact, a productivity study of highly skilled workers in 2014 found that parents were more productive than those who were not parents.(职场妈妈是我们应该积极引导和提拔的有价值的员工。 21根据前文“Electronic labels will replace all the paper labels which announce the prices. 可知此处是讲电子标签,选项F中的they指代电子标签,选项F(他们将使整个商店在几分钟内改变价格变得更容易。) 故选F22根据后文“Additionally, if you use a store's app to create a shopping list, the smart shelves can interact with the list and show you where to find the items you want.”(此外,如果你使用商店的应用程序创建购物清单,智能货架可以与该清单互动,并告诉你在哪里找到你想要的商品。) 所以选项C(智能货架可以与顾客智能手机上的应用程序互动。) 故选C23根据前文“RFID usually has a tag that can transmit and receive data.”RFID通常有一个可以传输和接收数据的标签。)可知,此处是讲RFID可以传输和接收数据,选项E(它使用无线电波来识别物品并传输有关物品的信息。) 故选E24根据后文“The sensors can check temperatures in freezers and cases to make sure they are correct.”(传感器可以检查冰柜和箱子的温度,以确保它们是正确的。)可知,此处是讲温度控制,所以选项A(其中最基本的就是温度控制。) 故选A25根据后文“From digital displays that show instant price changes to advertisements linked to your shopping list, you can expect the technology to become more personalized.”(从显示即时价格变化的数字显示器,到链接到你的购物清单的广告,你可以期待这项技术变得更加个性化。)可知,此处是讲智能货架的未来发展,所以选项B(未来,智能货架将改变你的购物方式。) 26根据前句“While some workplace stress is normal, too much stress can affect your physical and mental health.(虽然有些工作压力是正常的,但太多的压力会影响你的身心健康。)”和后句“Luckily, there are steps you can take to keep the workplace madness to a minimum.( 幸运的是,你可以采取一些措施将工作场所的疯狂程度降至最低。)” F“It can even mean the difference between success and failure on the job.(它甚至可以决定工作上的成功与失败。)” 27根据前句“Today's office worker actually changes tasks an average of three minutes. 和后句“Rather, it is tiring, inefficient and highly stressful. E“Working on several things at a time might seem impressive, but it isn't. B“Be creative in improving your motivation. 29根据本段主题句“Keep a work journal. 和前句“In it, you can write all the things you'd like to say to the boss/client/colleague so you get it out of your system without losing your job. G“It will also help you understand what it is about your job that really drives you crazy. 30根据前句“Make a list, place boxes next to each item and tick off the boxes as you move through the list. 和后句“As a result, you'll be more efficient in your work and become less stressed. D“You'll avoid forgetting anything and stay focused on the job.
