2022浙江高考英语总复习专题冲刺之—七选五提高训练(六)A Some people find hobbies boring or simply think of them as a waste of time. What they do not know is that it can do a lot of good for a person physically, mentally and emotionally. Here are some of the benefits of having an interesting hobby.1. It can help reduce the stress level in your body. This can be done by diverting (转移) your focus. For example, instead of always thinking of your problems, you can spare some of your time to focus on your hobby.Physical hobbies like sports are a great way to exercise the body and your mind. 2. It burns the fat stored in your body and helps reduce the cholesterol (胆固醇) levels. It also promotes better blood circulation which is good for the heart. What is important is that sports not only benefit the body, but also help in making your mind more alert and sharp. 3.Having a hobby allows you to acquire new skills and discover your hidden talents. Finding the right hobby may be difficult but as a tip, you can try different activities initially until you realize what your interests actually are. And as you learn more about your chosen hobby, you can develop or enhance your skills. For example, chess can make your analytical skills better.4. Cultivating hobbies will eventually lead you to meeting like-minded new people. You could gain new friends while playing your favorite sports like golf, tennis or basketball. You encounter a lot of people especially in outdoor activities such as the golf course or courts.5. It is bound to contribute towards the development of a better you and so, hereafter, even if you do not have a hobby, do make the effort to develop one.A.Doing your favorite hobby gives you time to relax.B.Art hobbies like painting can improve your creativity.C.Getting into physical activities promote good health.D.As you can see, cultivating a hobby is a great idea to improve yourself.E.Your hobbies can also help with your job applications to various companies.F.Your hobbies may not improve your quality of life unless you are interested in it.G.Most hobbies also need strategy to attain your goal and this keeps your brain working. BShould you listen to music when you work? Some will say they love it, claiming that it improves their performance; others will say they cannot work effectively with music playing in the background. 6. It just depends on what sort of work you’re doing. In a recent study, we brought participants into our lab with a variety of tasks. They included an easy task — searching through word lists and crossing out words containing the letter “a” and a more difficult task — memorizing word pairs and recalling the partner to each word. Some participants completed all of the tasks in silence, whereas others completed the tasks with instrumental music that was either loud or soft, and either simple or complex, the latter meaning music with more instrumental tracks. 7.We found that participants who listened to simple music or no music performed about the same on the easy task. 8. Contrarily, participants performed worse on the more difficult task when they listened to any music, regardless of complexity or volume, compared to those who didn’t listen to any music.9. Not surprisingly, we typically need to use fewer of our mental resources when we perform easy tasks, whereas demanding tasks require more brainpower. However, because we might be less engaged during easier tasks, there’s a greater risk of drifting off to sleep. Music might give us the extra boost we need to get refreshed. 10. Listening to music can become overkill So we have to strike a balance between the type of music and the type of task.A.What should we make of these findings?B.Several key findings emerged from our study.C.However, difficult tasks already demand a lot of our mental resources.D.Our research has found that the effects of work may depend on our personalities.E.We want to develop a more comprehensive framework that could be applied broader.F.However, participants who listened to complex music performed best on the easy task.G.Interestingly enough, our research has found that both of these perspectives can be true. C Financial goals for the New Year usually have a place in most people's list.11.Here are some ways you can make sure those financial goals are achieved. You have to actually set these goals in the first place. Try to find out what matters to you. Write down everything—practical and impractical.12.You will also need to set a specific time limit you desire to reach these goals.13.Once you start doing so, it'll shock you how the smallest expenses add up to huge amounts. After successfully keeping track of your spending for a month, categorize them into groups to properly understand which type of expenses eat into your income the most. You can then use the data to cut down unnecessary expenses. If you want to reach your financial goals, you'll definitely need to create a budget.14.At the beginning of each week, you can create a budget for how much you should spend every day in that week. It is helpful to constantly believe that the amount you have on your weekly budget is the only amount you own. Creating barriers that make it difficult for you to access the rest of your money till the end of the week can also help.Spending less than you earn is one of the easiest ways to get you out of debt and save towards your future. One way is to always reach for the most affordable options you can find. When you go shopping, don't just reach for the first product you see.15.Quality will still matter of course.Make sure to review your financial goals and progress regularly. This will help you evaluate mistakes and decide whether to adjust your goals or even create new ones. There's really no shame in slacking a few times. You only need to carefully address the areas you slacked in and determine to do better.A.Track your expenses.B.Save like your life depends on it.C.But only a few people actually accomplish them.D.Try to see if you can get a cheaper brand of that same product.E.Sort them into short term, long term goals, and level of importance.F.It is also easier these days with many shopping apps that you can use.G.Budgets are useful in helping you control the amount of money you spend. D In recent years, more Chinese students have been choosing art school as their first choice when applying for universities overseas, according to the Report on Chinese Students’ Overseas Study in 2018. Anyone applying to art school should know that one’s portfolio (资历证明材料) is a crucial part of the xkw application process.16. Focus on original, recent work. Admissions officers see so many portfolios on a regular basis, so it’s important to make yourself stand out as an individual.17.Presenting work that you’ve done within the last one or two years also provides a more relevant and accurate portrayal (描述) of your skills.18.You don’t want to spread yourself too thin, but working with a variety of media and different techniques can convey that you are able to express yourself in diverse ways.Unless the school requires that only finished work be included in your portfolio, you should include images that reflect the progress of your work.19.It gives admissions officers insight into the thought that has gone into the work.Make sure that your work shows your true talent.20.Remember never try to make up some merits, which will in turn be a mirror of your dishonesty. However, it is always helpful to look at samples of other art portfolios to see their approach.A.Prepare your portfolio in different languages.B.Show a wide range of work in your portfolio.C.Be proud of what you submit and your own strengths.D.Why is a good portfolio important to your successful application?E.This may include images from a workbook behind the finished product.F.Here are some tips to help you through this process and put your best work out there.G.It’s more impressive to express your personal opinion rather than copying another’s work. EWhen the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, the resulting view of the Sun is called a solar eclipse(日食). Solar eclipses are beautiful astronomical events and many people across the world travel to faraway places to get a clear view of the phenomenon. 21. Others choose special eyewear. It is believed that a pregnant woman with a baby should not view a solar eclipse. They are often told that their child will be badly formed if they view a solar eclipse. However, various scientific authorities have stated over and over again that there is no harm at all in viewing a solar eclipse with the right eye gear. 22.It is important, however, that you view a solar eclipse with the right eye gear. Staring right at the sun could permanently damage the eyes. It is wrong to assume that the sun can be looked at after the moon blocks out a majority of it. 23.If you want to view the eclipse, you have to get special glasses. As opposed to popular belief, sunglasses and dark films do NOT protect our eyes. 24. You can do this by fixing a telescope and focusing the image onto a sheet of paper. You can clearly see the eclipse on the sheet of paper. You should never look directly at the eclipse through the telescope.Similarly, you can make a tiny hole on an opaque(不透明的) sheet of paper and let the light passing through fall on a sheet of paper. 25. Alternatively, you can watch it live on TV which is the safest way of viewing a solar eclipse!A.It is best if you purchase eye wear.B.So they need not worry to view a solar eclipse.C.Viewing a solar eclipse directly is a strict no-no.D.Some of them watch the event through special, telescopes.E.This method is an effective way to watch an eclipse as well.F.To safely watch a solar eclipse, wear protective eclipse glasses.G.The best way to see a solar eclipse is by viewing its projected image. F People learn in different ways, and out of many forms of learning, one of particularly interesting—that is visual learning. Visual learners remember what they read over what they hear, and learn through sight. They are interested in using graphs and drawings to understand ideas.26.While everyone has their own preference for learning, studies show that most people are visually inclined(有倾向的). 27. And thus, whenever people see pictures, those pictures are kept in the long-term memory, allowing them to recall concepts and ideas.Visual learners can learn effectively in many ways. First of all, a to-do list is a highly regarded technique. 28. Even if you’re not a visual learner, a to-do list can let you order tasks based on importance and improve your productivity.29. The idea is to display relationships and connections to people, places events and more. This technique helps with the learning of particular concepts.Videos can easily catch people’s attention and allow us to recreate those stories into clear pictures in our minds. 30. In addition to recording the lecturers or their words, you can also record yourself and make videos explaining certain concepts. This plays a great role in the learning process.A.These attract the attention of the individual.B.So why not include them in your learning?C.And they get used to taking notes during class.D.Why can visual learning help with effective learning?E.The brain processes pictures faster than it does with words.F.With so many things to do, it makes sense to get them organized in to-do lists.G.Moreover, mind-mapping is a form of note-taking that benefits visual learning. 根据下文“It can help reduce the stress level in your body. This can be done by diverting (转移) your focus.(它可以帮助减少你身体的压力水平。这可以通过转移注意力来实现。)”可知,本段主要讲述了拥有一个爱好可以帮助放松。A项:Doing your favorite hobby gives you time to relax.(做你最喜欢的爱好可以让你有时间放松。) 故选A。2.根据本段主题句“Physical hobbies like sports are a great way to exercise the body and your mind.(像运动这样的体育爱好是锻炼身体和思想的好方法。)” Getting into physical activities promote good health.(参加体育活动促进健康。) 3.根据上文“What is important is that sports not only benefit the body, but also help in making your mind more alert and sharp.(重要的是,运动不仅有益于身体,而且有助于使你的思维更加敏捷。)” Most hobbies also need strategy to attain your goal and this keeps your brain working.(大多数爱好也需要策略来实现你的目标,这使你的大脑工作)符合语境。故选G。4.根据本段主题句“Having a hobby allows you to acquire new skills and discover your hidden talents.(有一个爱好可以让你获得新的技能,发现你隐藏的才能。)” Art hobbies like painting can improve your creativity.(像绘画这样的艺术爱好可以提高你的创造力。) 5.根据下文“It is bound to contribute towards the development of a better you and so, hereafter, even if you do not have a hobby, do make the effort to develop one.(这一定会有助于更好的你的发展,所以,以后,即使你没有什么爱好,也要努力去培养一个。)” As you can see, cultivating a hobby is a great idea to improve yourself.(正如你所看到的,培养一种爱好是一个提高自己的好主意。) 6.根据前文“Some will say they love it, claiming that it improves their performance; others will say they cannot work effectively with music playing in the background.(有些人会说他们喜欢它,声称它能提高他们的表现;其他人会说他们不能在背景音乐的情况下有效地工作。)”和后文“It just depends on what sort of work you’re doing.(这要看你在做什么工作了。)” G“Interestingly enough, our research has found that both of these perspectives can be true.(有趣的是,我们的研究发现,这两种观点都可能是正确的。)” 7.结合上下两段,题干前文“In a recent study, we brought participants into our lab with a variety of tasks. They included an easy task — searching through word lists and crossing out words containing the letter “a” and a more difficult task — memorizing word pairs and recalling the partner to each word. Some participants completed all of the tasks in silence, whereas others completed the tasks with instrumental music that was either loud or soft, and either simple or complex, the latter meaning music with more instrumental tracks”主要介绍了实验参照组之间的区别还有实验流程,后段就开始阐述实验发现,可见题干肯定是总结实验获得了收获。 B“Several key findings emerged from our study. (我们的研究得出了几个关键的发现。)”符合上下文语境。故选B。8.结合前后文,该段肯定在说不同参照组的实验结果。根据前句“We found that participants who listened to simple music or no music performed about the same on the easy task.(我们发现,听简单音乐或不听音乐的参与者在简单任务上的表现都差不多。)”和后句“Contrarily, participants performed worse on the more difficult task when they listened to any music, regardless of complexity or volume, compared to those who didn’t listen to any music.( 相反,与没听音乐的人相比,听音乐的人在更难的任务上表现得更差,不管音乐的复杂性或音量大小。)” F“However, participants who listened to complex music performed best on the easy task. (然而,听复杂音乐的参与者在简单任务上表现最好。)”符合上下文语境。故选F。9.结合题干后文“Not surprisingly, we typically need to use fewer of our mental resources when we perform easy tasks, whereas demanding tasks require more brainpower.” A“What should we make of these findings? (我们应该如何理解这些发现?)”符合上下文语境。故选A。10.根据后文“Listening to music can become overkill (过犹不及). So we have to strike a balance between the type of music and the type of task.(听音乐可能会变得过犹不及。所以我们必须在音乐类型和任务类型之间取得平衡。)”可知,复杂任务不适合听音乐,因为复杂任务本身就需要精神力消耗。所以选择项C“However, difficult tasks already demand a lot of our mental resources. (然而,困难的任务已经需要我们大量的精神资源。)”符合上下文语境。故选C。 11.C 12.E 13.A 14.G 15.D【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一些可以确保实现财务目标的方法。11.根据上文“Financial goals for the New Year usually have a place in most people's list.(大多数人的新年财务目标都在他们的清单上占有一席之地)”以及后文“Here are some ways you can make sure those financial goals are achieved.(这里有一些方法可以确保你实现这些财务目标)”可知,后文提到了确保实现财务目标的方法,可推测这些制定的财务目标少数人才能完成,所以需要方法。 12.根据上文“You have to actually set these goals in the first place. Try to find out what matters to you. Write down everything—practical and impractical.(你必须首先设定这些目标。试着找出什么对你来说是重要的。写下每件事——实际的和不切实际的)”以及后文“You will also need to set a specific time limit you desire to reach these goals.(你还需要设定一个你希望达到这些目标的具体时间限制)”可知,本段主要是关于给设定的目标分类,上文提到了写下实际的和不切实际的事情,本句应承接上文进一步说明如何把这些事情进行分类,E选项中them指代上文everything。故E选项“把它们分成短期目标、长期目标和重要程度”符合语境,故选E。13.根据后文“Once you start doing so, it'll shock you how the smallest expenses add up to huge amounts. After successfully keeping track of your spending for a month, categorize them into groups to properly understand which type of expenses eat into your income the most. You can then use the data to cut down unnecessary expenses.(一旦你开始这样做了,你会震惊地发现,最小的花费竟能累积成巨大的数额。成功地记录下你一个月的支出后,把它们分类,正确地了解哪种支出最消耗你的收入。然后,您可以使用这些数据来减少不必要的开支)”可知,本段的方法是记录下自己的开支,A选项Track your expenses对应后文中keeping track of your spending for a month。 14.根据上文“If you want to reach your financial goals, you'll definitely need to create a budget.(如果你想实现你的财务目标,你肯定需要做一个预算)”可知,上文提到了做预算,故本句承接上文继续说明预算的作用,G选项中Budgets对应上文中budget。 15.根据上文“Spending less than you earn is one of the easiest ways to get you out of debt and save towards your future. One way is to always reach for the most affordable options you can find. When you go shopping, don't just reach for the first product you see.(花得比赚得少是让你摆脱债务、为未来存钱最简单的方法之一。 16.浏览文章并阅读第一自然段的“In recent years, more Chinese students have been choosing art school as their first choice when applying for universities overseas”可知,第一段在交代本文的背景,即中国学生想要留学海外越来越将艺术学校作为首选。文章下面分段论述不同的技巧,且空处前一句“Anyone applying to art school should know that one’s portfolio (资历证明材料) is a crucial part of the xkw application process.” F“Here are some tips to help you throughthis process and put your best work out there.”(这里有一些建议可以帮助你完成这个过程并将你最好的作品展现出来),符合此处想要表达的含义且逻辑通顺,故答案为F。17.空处前一句写到“so it’s important to make yourself stand out as an individual." (所以让你自己脱颖而出是很重要的),空处后面“Presenting work that you’ve done within the last one or two years also provides a more relevant and accurate portrayal (描述) of your skills.”又提到展示自己过去一到两年做过的工作也能提供对自己技能更具相关性和精确的描述。浏览选项,选项G“It’s more impressive to express your personal opinion rather than copying another’s work." (表达个人的观点更能让人印象深刻而不是抄袭别人的工作),G选项承接前一句,都提到表达自己的观点,让自己脱颖而出,且能够引出下一句关于work的论述,故答案为G。18.空处位于第三段开头,因此合理猜测要选一个具有总结性的句子能够概括第三段的段意。根据下文“You don’t want to spread yourself too thin, but working with a variety of media and different techniques can convey that you are able to express yourself in diverse ways.”可知,第三段讲述了与各种媒体和不同的科技合作能够传递一种信息,就是个人能够用各种方式表达自己,即此段落的技巧是强调多样化,丰富自己。选项中,提到多样化展示自己,强调范围的只有选项B“Show a wide range of work in your portfolio”(在资历证明中广泛展示自己的工作),符合此处表达的含义,故答案为B。19.根据上文“Unless the school requires that only finished work be included in your portfolio, you should include images that reflect the progress of your work.”说明第四段提供的技巧是可以在资历证明中加入一些照片,能够让招生办深入了解。前一句写到“you should includeimages that reflect the progress of yourwork." (你应该包括反应你工作过程的图像),选项E“This may include images from a workbook behind the finished product.”(这可能包括已完成工作的工作簿图像)紧接前句,都在说关于图像的技巧,逻辑紧密,故答案为E。20.第五段的大意为展现自己真正的才能,不要去编造自己没有的品质,因为这样反而会显得不诚实,但是可以参考别人资历证明材料中使用的方法。首句“Make sure that your work shows your true talent”(确保你的工作能展示出自己真正的才能),以及后面所提到“Remember never try to make up some merits, which will in turn be a mirror of your dishonesty.”说明要真诚不编造,故空处所填内容应该表达对自己的反思即相信自己。选项C“Be proud of what you submit and your own strength”(为你提交的内容和自己的力量感到自豪),符合段落主旨,故答案为C。 21.D 22.B 23.C 24.G 25.E【分析】这是一篇说明文,文章主要介绍了日食现象及观看日食的正确方法。21.空前一句“Solar eclipses are beautiful astronomical events and many people across the world travel to faraway places to get a clear view of the phenomenon.”提到,日食是美丽的天文现象,世界各地的许多人前往遥远的地方,以清楚地看到这一现象,结合空后一句“Others choose special eyewear.(其他人则选择特殊的眼镜。)”可知,空处应是也描述观看日食的设备,D项“他们中的一些人通过特殊的望远镜观看这一现象。”符合语境,D项中的Some与空后一句的Others呼应。故选D项。22.根据空前一句“However, various scientific authorities have stated over and over again that there is no harm at all in viewing a solar eclipse with the right eye gear.”可知,各种科学权威一再声明,用适当的眼睛防护设备观看日食完全没有害处,由此可推知,孕妇不能观看日食的说法不正确,即孕妇可以观看日食。B项“所以她们不必担心看日食”符合语境。故选B项。23.根据空前两句“Staring right at the sun could permanently damage the eyes. It is wrong to assume that the sun can be looked at after the moon blocks out a majority of it.”可知,盯着太阳看会对眼睛造成永久性伤害。如果认为月亮遮住了大部分太阳后就可以直视太阳,那是错误的。由此可推知,不能直接用肉眼看日食,C项“直接观看日食是绝对不允许的”符合语境。故选C项。24.空前一句“As opposed to popular belief, sunglasses and dark films do NOT protect our eyes.”提到,与普遍的看法相反,太阳镜和暗膜并不能保护我们的眼睛,结合空后一句“You can do this by fixing a telescope and focusing the image onto a sheet of paper. You can clearly see the eclipse on the sheet of paper.(你可以把望远镜固定在一张纸上,把图像对焦。你可以在这张纸上清楚地看到日食。)”可知,空处应是描述看日食的正确方法,空后是描述具体的操作,G项“观察日食的最好方法是观看它的投影。”符合语境,空后一句中的this指代G项中的“viewing its projected image”。故选G项。25.空前一句“Similarly, you can make a tiny hole on an opaque(不透明的) sheet of paper and let the light passing through fall on a sheet of paper. 26.根据上文提示“They are interested in using graphs and drawings to understand ideas.”(他们对使用图表和图画来理解思想感兴趣。)承接上文,C项And they get used to taking notes during class.(他们也习惯了上课记笔记。)切题。该项与上文构成递进关系,上文的“using graphs and drawings”和“taking notes”都是学习方法。故选C。27.根据上文提示“While everyone has their own preference for learning, studies show that most people are visually inclined”(虽然每个人都有自己的学习偏好,但研究表明,大多数人倾向于在视觉上学习。)再根据下文提示“And thus, whenever people see pictures, those pictures are kept in the long-term memory, allowing them to recall concepts and ideas.”(因此,每当人们看到图片时,这些图片就会被保存在长期记忆中,让他们回忆起概念和想法。)承接上下文,E项The brain processes pictures faster than it does with words.(大脑处理图片的速度比处理文字的速度快。)切题。关键词:pictures;该项中的pictures faster than it does with words承接了上文的visually inclined,同时顺承了下文中的pictures are kept in the long-term memory。故选E。28.根据上文提示“First of all, a to-do list is a highly regarded technique.”(首先,待办事项清单是一种备受推崇的技巧。)再根据下文提示“Even if you’re not a visual learner, a to-do list can let you order tasks based on importance and improve your productivity.”(即使你不是一个视觉学习者,待办事项列表也可以让你根据重要性来安排任务,提高你的效率。)承接上下文,F项With so many things to do, it makes sense to get them organized in to-do lists.(有这么多事情要做,把它们列在待办事项清单里是很有意义的。)切题。此处关键词to-do lists,这里描述了to-do lists的重要性。故选F。29.根据下文提示“The idea is to display relationships and connections to people, places events and more. This technique helps with the learning of particular concepts.”(这个想法是为了展示人与人、地点和事件之间的关系和联系。这个技巧有助于学习特定的概念。)顺承下文,G项Moreover, mind-mapping is a form of note-taking that benefits visual learning.(此外,思维导图是一种有利于视觉学习的笔记形式。)切题。该项中的mind-mapping就是下文中的The idea和This technique。故选G。30.根据上文提示“Videos can easily catch people’s attention and allow us to recreate those stories into clear pictures in our minds.”(视频可以很容易地吸引人们的注意力,并让我们在脑海中把那些故事重新塑造成清晰的画面。)承接上文,B项So why not include them in your learning?(所以为什么不把它们包括在你的学习中呢?)切题。上文解释了Videos的好处,与该项构成了因果关系。故选B。
