Recite the dialogue in Let’s talk together. Check some pairs to act out the dialogue. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Review the sounds of th. 2. Finish the sentences according to the pictures. A. I have a … ruler. B. My brother can … C. My phone is … D. Her sister is … 3. Check the answers together and then present the words below long, sing, ring & young. Try to read the words and find out the phonics rule ng/ŋ/. Go around and check the correct pronunci- ation one by one. Try to read the new words with ng by themselves. eg. thing, king, walking, drinking 4. Present the words with nk /ŋk/ in the same way. A. He is … B. There is a box of … C. The elephant has a long… D. I like … 5. Read the words think/ink/trunk/pink together and find out the phonics rule nk /ŋk/. Lead to read the sound. 6. Focus on the words above and give the Ss two minutes to find the words with ng/nk learnt before song, thing, swimming, drink, thank, … 7. Help the Ss know the rules Letter n sounds /n/.
