Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Let’s read. Read the words on Page 49 together. 3. Look at the phonic symbols, read and spell the words. Check up individuals. 4. Take a book from the shelf, ask and answer. Whose book is it? It’s …’s book. The book is … Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Lead in. There is an art show. Now, let’s enjoy some pictures. Show the pictures on PPT. Look at the picture. Where is it? (the Great Wall) Lead the Ss to answer with It’s a picture of Beijing. Focus on the phrase a picture of Beijing/Shanghai. 2. Ask the Ss Do you like the pictures/drawing? Sarah and her friends like drawing very much. Now, let’s enjoy their pictures. 3. Show the picture of Let’s try and guess Which is John’s picture? Then listen and tick. Check the answer together. Focus on the sentence pattern The green/… picture is mine/his/… 4. Show some pictures, work in four and guess which picture is Mike’s/Zhang Peng’s/Chen Jie’s/Amy’s/John’s. 5. Watch the flash and answer the questions below. A. Whose yellow picture is it? B. Which picture is Zhang Peng’s? C. Which picture is Wu Yifan’s? 6. Open their books, read and understand the dialogue in Let’s talk. 7. Watch, listen and repeat sentence by sentence. 8. Ask the Ss to recite the dialogue and give them several minutes to practice. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Act out the dialogue in roles. Then check some pairs. 2. Ask and find out.
