Mre specifically, they agree n hw t get ahead in America: get a cllege educatin, find a reliable jb, and buy their wn huse. But d Americans still believe in that path, and if they d, is it attainable?
The mst recent Natinal Jurnal pll asked participants abut the American dream, what it takes t achieve their gal, and whether r nt they felt the cntrl ver their ability t be successful. Obviusly, the results shw that tday, the idea f the American dream and what it takes t achieve it lks quite different frm it did in the late 20th century. Generally speaking, peple felt that their actins and hard wrk nt utside frce deciding their lives. But the participants had definitely mixed feelings abut what actins make fr a better life in the current ecnmy.
In the last seven years, Americans have grwn mre pessimistic (悲观的) abut the pwer f educatin t lead t success. Even thugh they see ging t cllege as a fairly achievable gal, a majrity 52 percent think that yung peple d nt need a 4year cllege educatin in rder t be successful.
Miguel Maeda, 42, wh has a master's degree and wrks in public health, was the first in his family t g t cllege, which has allwed him t achieve a sense f financial stability (稳定) his parents and grandparents never did. While sme, like Maeda, emphasized the value f degree rather than the educatin itself, thers still see cllege as a way t gain new viewpints and life experiences. T Fendley, a sense f drive and purpse, as well as an effective highschl educatin, and basic life skills, like balancing a checkbk(支票簿), are the necessary elements fr a successful life in America.

A.a sense f drive and purpse
    B.an advanced academic degree
C.a firm belief in their dream
    D.an ambitin t get ahead
由第一段“Mre specifically, they agree n hw t get ahead in America: get a cllege educatin, find a reliable jb, and buy their wn huse.”
2.What is the finding f the latest Natinal Jurnal pll cncerning the American dream? D
A.Mre and mre Americans are finding it hard t realize.
B.It remains alive amng the majrity f American peple.
C.An increasing number f yung Americans are abandning it.
D.Americans' idea f it has changed ver the past few decades.
由第二段“the results shw that tday, the idea f the American dream and what it takes t achieve it lks quite different frm it did in the late 20th century.”
3.What d Americans nw think f the rle f cllege educatin in achieving success? D

Even thugh they see ging t cllege as a fairly achievable gal, a majrity 52 percent think that yung peple d nt need a 4year cllege educatin in rder t be successful.”
4.Hw d sme peple view cllege educatin these days? A
    A.It helps braden their minds.
    B.It needs t be strengthened.
    C.It widens cultural diversity.

由最后一段“While sme, like Maeda, emphasized the value f degree rather than the educatin itself, thers still see cllege as a way t gain new viewpints and life experiences.”

As I wash dishes at the kitchen sink, my husband, Sctt, paces behind me, annyed.“Have yu seen my keys?” he asks.In the past I wuld have turned ff the tap and jined the hunt while trying t cmfrt my husband. But that nly made him angrier.Nw, I fcus n the wet dish in my hands.I dn't turn arund.I dn't say a wrd.I'm using a technique I learned frm a dlphin trainer.
Fr a bk I was writing abut animal trainers' schl, I started spending my days watching prfessinal trainers d the seemingly impssible: teaching dgs t dance n cmmand and chimps t skatebard.Eventually it hit me that the same techniques might wrk n that stubbrn but lvable species, the American husband. The central lessn I learned is that I shuld reward behaviur I like and ignre behaviur I dn't.After all, yu dn't get a sea lin t balance a ball n the end f its nse by talking. The same ges fr the American husband.
I began thanking Sctt if he threw ne dirty shirt int the laundry basket. If he threw in tw, I'd kiss him.I was using what trainers call “apprximatins”, rewarding the small steps tward learning a whle new behaviur. With Sctt the husband, I began t praise every small act every time: if he drve just a mile an hur slwer, r was n time fr anything.
I fllwed the students t SeaWrld San Dieg, where a dlphin trainer intrduced me t Least Reinfrcing Scenari (LRS).When a dlphin des smething wrng, the trainer desn't respnd in any way.The idea is that any respnse, psitive r negative, fuels a behaviur. If a behaviur causes n respnse, it typically dies away.It was nly a matter f time befre he was again searching fr his keys, at which pint I said nthing and kept at what I was ding.It tk a lt f discipline t maintain my calm, but results were immediate.I felt as if I shuld thrw him a small fish.
5.What can we infer abut the writer? C
A.She treats her husband like animals.
B.She ften quarrels with her husband.
C.She behaves differently t her husband.
D.She's determined t learn frm the dlphin.
根据第一段第三句“In the past I wuld have turned ff the tap and jined the hunt while trying t cmfrt my husband.” 根据第一段最后三句“I dn't turn arund.I dn't say a wrd.I'm using a technique l learned frm a dlphin trainer.”
6.Hw did the writer get the idea f treating her husband? C
    A.By rewarding her husband.
    B.By writing a bk n animals.
    C.By watching prfessinal training.
D.By fcusing n washing the dishes.
7.What will happen if the trainer desn't respnd t the dlphin's mistake? B
    A.It will feel embarrassed.
    B.It will frget the mistake.
    C.It will remember its mistake.
D.It will repeat the wrng actin.
根据第四段第四句“If a behaviur causes n respnse,it typically dies away.”
8.What is the tne f the text? A
    A.Humrus. B.Serius.
    C.Aggressive. D.Dubtful.
根据尾段最后两句“It tk a lt f discipline t maintain my calm, but results were immediate.I felt as if I shuld thrw him a small fish.”

4.根据本段标题“Be sure t eat safe fruits.”以及空处后一句“They may have been washed in the same water,r wiped with the same rag used t clean wrk surfaces in kitchens.”
5.根据本段标题以及空处前一句“If yu are cncerned abut whether a restaurant is clean, rder the fd t g.”

故填t have。
故填than。
故填is reduced。
故填being。
    假定英语课上老师要求同桌之间交换修改作文,请你修改你同桌写的以下作文。文中共有10处错误,每句中最多有两处。错误涉及一个单词的增加,删除或修改。
    增加:在缺词处加一个漏字符号(∧),并在其下面写出该加的词。
    删除:把多余的词用(\)划掉。
    修改:在错的词下画一横线,并在该词下面写出修改后的词。
    注意:1.每处错误及其修改均仅限一词;
    2.只允许修改10处,多者(从第11处起)不计分。

    解析:
    1.考查非谓语动词。看到那些冰融化和北极熊的栖息地遭受破坏的影像,“我”感到失望。此处应用动名词短语作主语。故将See改为Seeing。
    2.考查名词所有格。此处指北极熊的栖息地。故此处应用名词的所有格bears'。
    3.考查动词的时态。此处叙述的事发生在“我”上小学的时候。故用一般过去时。故将begin改为began。
    4.考查非谓语动词。“我”开始意识到为了拯救环境,去做我们能够做的事情是重要的。此处用动词不定式表示目的。故在save前加t。
    5.考查副词。母亲立即答应购买一个。此处修饰动词应用副词。故用immediately。
    6.上文中的“a blue recycling bin”为泛指。故此处用表示泛指的代词ne。
    7.考查介词。get sb.sth.“给某人某物”为固定搭配。故此处删除fr。
    8.考查名词。waste paper表示“废纸”,为不可数名词。故将papers改为paper。
    9.考查连词。虽然“我”仅仅是一个人,但“我”感觉“我”做的事情意义重大。根据句意可知前后形成转折关系。故此处改为but/yet。
    10.考查冠词。make a big difference表示“有重大影响;意义重大”。故将the改为a。
