    【温馨提示】the reasn后接定语从句的引导词用why/fr which还是用that/which,取决于其在定语从句中所承担的句子成分。缺少主语、宾语、表语用that或which;缺少状语用why或fr which。
    名词性从句名词性从句是高中阶段重要的语法项目之一,它包括主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句(不要求掌握)。名词性从句的引导词有:
    Hw we understand things has a lt t d with what we feel.我们如何理解事情与我们所感受到的有很大关系。Yur supprt is imprtant t ur wrk.Whatever yu can d helps.你的支持对我们的工作很重要。你能做的任何事情都会对我们有所帮助。She asked me whether I had returned the bks t the library,and I admitted that I hadn’t.她问我是否把书还给图书馆了,我承认我还没有还。Our teacher always tells us t believe in what we d and wh we are if we want t succeed.
    我们的老师总是告诉我们,如果我们想成功的话,就要相信我们所做的事情以及相信我们自己。This is where we usually think it’s easier t just give up.这就是我们通常认为更容易放弃的地方。
    一、that引导的名词性从句that引导名词性从句时本身无意义,只起连接作用,也不在句中作任何成分。它引导的名词性从句结构和意义都完整,往往用于陈述事实。引导主语从句、表语从句和同位语从句时,that不能省略。引导宾语从句时,在口语和非正式文体中,that可省略。但下列情况下,that不可省略:1.that从句作介词的宾语I dn’t knw exactly where he lives,except that it’s smewhere ut in the wilds.他具体住在哪里我不是很清楚,只知道是远离城市的边远地区。2.that引导的从句位于句首时That the earth ges arund the sun is knwn t us all.众所周知,地球围着太阳转。
    3.宾语从句前有插入语时We hpe,n the cntrary,that he will stay at hme with us.恰恰相反,我们希望他和我们待在家里。4.动词后有多个that引导的宾语从句时,只有第一个that可省略,从第二个从句开始that不可省略He tld me (that) he had t leave and that he wuld be back sn.他告诉我他得离开并且很快就会回来。5.it作形式宾语时,that引导的宾语从句中that往往不可省略He has made it clear that the meeting will nt be pstpned.他清楚地表明会议不会被推迟。
    二、that引导主语从句时可用it作形式主语的四大句式1.It+be+形容词(necessary,right,likely,unlikely,wrng,imprtant,certain,clear,bvius,strange,nrmal等)+that从句It isn’t likely that I shuld accept such an ffer as that.我不可能接受像那样的帮助。2.It+be+名词(短语)(a pity,a shame,gd news,a fact,an hnur,a wnder,n wnder等)+that从句It’s n wnder that he didn’t want t g.难怪他不想去。
    3.It+be+过去分词(said,tld,heard,reprted,decided,suggested,advised,rdered,remembered,thught,cnsidered,well-knwn,annunced等)+that从句It is decided that the meeting has been put ff until next Mnday.会议已经定下来推迟到下周一了。【特别注意】在“It+be+suggested/advised/rdered/requested/insisted/required...+that从句”结构中,从句谓语应用“(shuld+)动词原形”。It is suggested that yu (shuld) spend mre time in studying English.建议你花更多的时间学习英语。
    4.It+特殊动词或短语(seem,appear,happen,matter,turn ut,ccur t,make n difference等)+that从句It suddenly ccurred t her that Je was afraid f being alne.她突然想到乔害怕独自一个人待着。
    三、whether与if的用法1.用whether或if均可的情况(1)whether可引导各种名词性从句。引导大部分动词后的宾语从句时,两者均可。(2)it作形式主语,且主语从句在句末时,两者均可引导主语从句。It’s uncertain whether/if he’ll cme this evening.他今天晚上是否会来还不确定。
    2.用whether而不用if的情况(1)主语从句和宾语从句置于句首时Whether we can have clean drinking water lies in what effective measures will be taken by the gvernment abut water pllutin.我们能否有干净的饮用水取决于政府将采取什么样的有效措施处理水污染问题。(2)引导表语从句和同位语从句时The prblem is whether the air pllutin can be cntrlled.问题是空气污染能否被控制住。He asked me the questin whether we shuld give mney t the hmeless.他问了我我们是否该给无家可归者钱的问题。
    (3)引导介词的宾语从句时It depends n whether we have enugh time.这取决于我们是否有充足的时间。(4)引导词与r nt连用时I dn’t knw whether r nt the reprt is true.=I dn’t knw whether the reprt is true r nt.我不知道这个报道是否是真的。(5)引导词后接t d时They dn’t knw whether t g there.他们不知道是否去那里。
    (6)有些动词如leave,put,discuss,decide等后的宾语从句We discussed whether we shuld hld a meeting.我们讨论了我们是否应召开一个会议。(7)避免用if引导产生歧义Let me knw whether yu are cming t ur party.让我知道你是否来参加我们的聚会。
    四、名词性从句的语序无论原句是陈述句、一般疑问句还是特殊疑问句,在名词性从句中一律使用陈述句语序。The teacher asked if yu had finished yur hmewrk.老师问你是否做完作业了。Can yu tell us when the sprts meeting will begin?你能告诉我们运动会何时举行吗?
    五、疑问词+ever引导的名词性从句1.whatever的意思是“所有……的东西”,其含义相当于anything that,在句中可作主语、宾语或定语。D whatever she tells yu and yu will have peace.她让你做什么你就做什么,这样你就太平了。2.whever的意思是“任何……的人”,其含义相当于anyne wh,在句中可作主语或表语。I will give the tickets t whever wants it.谁想要这张票我就给谁。3.whichever的意思是“……的那个人或事物”,其含义相当于the persn/thing that,在句中可作主语、宾语或定语。Whichever f yu cmes first will receive a prize.你们谁第一谁就能获奖。
