一、教学目标
1. 掌握词汇:bit, climb, hide, thrw, fridge, pain, wrse, medicine
2. 掌握句型:
(1) One day, when Henry was wrking in a restaurant, a snake suddenly appeared and bit his hand.
(2) I was trying t pick it up when it bit me again.
(3) While the snake was lying n the table, Henry quickly picked up his mbile phne and tk a pht with it.
(4) When Henry was trying t find the snake, his hand began t hurt badly.
(5) As the dctrs were checking him, the pain gt wrse.
3. 能够读懂课文中厨师自救的事件。
4. 能够模仿课文,参考所给的表示时间顺序的常用词语和表达,描写叙述一个新故事。
5. 能够运用过去进行时。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:掌握本单元的词汇及句型,巩固过去进行时与 when 和while引导的状语从句连用的用法。
难点:掌握短文表述的重要信息及能够写描述生活中意外事故短故事。

四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Divide Ss int several grups and talk abut what they can d with a mbile phne.
T: Hell, everyne. Tday we’ll start a new unit. But befre the new class, please talk abut the questin in grups: what can yu d with yur mbile phne?
After the discussin, ask sme Ss t shw their pinins.

Step 2 Pre-reading
1. Learn the new wrds first: bit, climb, hide, thrw, fridge, pain, wrse, medicine.
2. Wrk n Activity 2.

(2) T appints sme Ss t shw their answers.
【设计意图】对本课的生词进行学习,为学习下面的文章做好词汇铺垫。通过观察图片培养学生的联想、预测和表达能力。
Step 3 While-reading
1. Ask Ss t read the passage and check their answers t Activity 2.
【设计意图】要求学生通过阅读课文检测自己前面的预测是否与课文内容相近或相符,旨在帮助学生了解故事大意,明确故事的发展顺序,进一步体会过去进行时的用法。
2. Read the passage and put the sentences in rder.
设计意图:教师引导学生读文章并将句子排序,有助于学生对文章的理解,进一步理解文章,学习文章。
3. Read the passage again and chse the crrect answer
4. Read the passage carefully and then fill the diary.
【设计意图】考查学生对课文细节的理解和掌握情况。
Step 4 Pst-reading
1. Fill in the blanks and retell the passage.
2. Language pints.
(1) I was trying t pick it up when it bit me again.
pick up“捡起;拾起”。pick up是“动词+副词”型短语,名词作宾语时,放在up 前后均可,代词作宾语时必须置于pick 与up 之间。
(2) While the snake was lying n the table...
lying 是动词lie 的现在分词。lie此处用作不及物动词,意为“躺;平躺”,其过去式是lay。
(3) As the dctrs were checking him, the pain gt wrse.
as在此处作连词,意为“当……时;随着”,引导时间状语从句,侧重于主句与从句的动作同时发生或同时进行。
(4) As he was lying there in great pain, Henry suddenly remembered the pht.
pain在此处作不可数名词,意为“痛;疼痛”。pain还可以用作可数名词,指肉体上的疼痛或精神、感情上的悲痛。in (great) pain意为“(很)疼痛,处于(极度)疼痛中”。
(5) As sn as they learnt what kind f snake bit him, they gave Henry the right medicine...
as sn as 意为“一……就”,引导时间状语从句。
medicine名词,意为“药;药物”。take medicine 意为“吃药;服药”。
【设计意图】学习课文中出现的语言点,帮助学生更好地理解课文并让学生学会运用这些语言点。
5. Wrk n Activity 5.
(1) T asks Ss t read the incmplete passage and try t fill in the blanks.
(2) T asks Ss t read the passage again and check the answers by themselves.
(3) T checks the answers as a class.

(2) Lk at hw they are used t tell the stry.
(3) Ask Ss t retell the stry.
(4) Use the wrds and expressins t write a new stry.
(5) T asks Ss t share their writings in grups, and then asks sme Ss t share their stries with the class at the frnt.
