S. city fairs and has gained recgnitin due t Nathan’s Ht Dg Eating Cntest, held annually n the 4th f July. The sprt has turned int a huge industry and is nw ppular in the U. S., Canada, and Japan.
    Wife Carrying
    This game has its rigins in Finland and it’s a sprt in which male cmpetitrs race while carrying a female teammate. The bjective is fr the male t carry the female thrugh a special track in the fastest time. The Wrld Wife Carrying Champinship has teams cmpeting frm Australia, Germany, Britain, Estnia, Ireland, and the United States. The wife must be ver 17 years ld and prizes include winning the wife’s weight in beer.

    Independence Day in Indnesia is n August, 17th. This day is celebrated by varius cmpetitins. Climbing palm trunk is the mst difficult ne. T climb n abslutely smth, iled trunk is an uneasy prblem. At the tp f the trunk there are prizes—frm twels, clthes and smething like that t muntain bicycles and cash certificates.

    2. It was dinner time fr the Rangers, a grup f mstly Indigenus(本地的) Australians wh had spent a lng day cleaning up the plluted beaches f the cntinents nrthern cast. Sn they wuld be eating freshly caught seafd cked under the stars n an pen fire, as their ancestrs did.
    The Rangers are f mre than 100 indigenus grups spread acrss Australia wh have taken n the jb f prtecting the land f their frefathers. In Arnhem Land, they are the prtectrs f 3,300 square miles f land and sea. They cmb the beaches by hand, picking up as much rubbish as pssible. The task is very difficult as each day it delivers waves f new rubbish.
    Fr the Rangers, cleaning the beaches is mre than a vacatin. Fr a peple whse culture is strngly tied t the land, prtecting the envirnment is equal t preserving their histry.
    Hwever, clnizatin frcefully brke their cnnectin t the land generatins ag. Indigenus peple were displaced and their cultural practices utlawed. Tens f thusands f years f traditinal land management ended, and as a result many parts f the cuntry nw face serius disasters frm invasive plant and animal species, bush fires and land mismanagement.
    In recent years, the gvernment has restred mre than 20 percent f Australia’s land t indigenus wners. Since 2007, the Indigenus Ranger Organizatins have been at wrk prtecting this land.
    Luke, ne f the few nn-indigenus emplyees wrking with the Rangers, said the cmbinatin f ld and new techniques and an appreciatin f the culture f indigenus wrkers culd have been critical t the prgramme's success.
    "Yu are wrking with staff wh see the wrld different t yu, s there is a much higher fcus n the cultural aspects f wrk and life," he said.
    "Being a ranger is a surce f cnfidence. Yu feel strng," said Terence, a senir ranger. "Here we still live n the land. The culture is still alive."

After the trees are cut dwn and mre greenhuse gases are released, the "blanket" arund the earth, called the zne layer(臭氧层),will get thicker. This catches mre heat and makes the earth htter. Luckily, there are many things that every citizen f the earth can d t help reduce the effects f glbal warming, and it's never t late r t early fr children t take actin.
    Children shuld learn what a carbn ftprint is. A carbn ftprint is the amunt f greenhuse gases peple make as they lead the daily life and g abut the nrmal activities. In ther wrds, the carbn ftprint is a measure f the envirnmental impact the life has. T live an envirnmentally friendly life that hardly cntributes t glbal warming, peple shuld make the fewest carbn ftprints pssible.
    Almst everything peple d cntributes t glbal warming and is related t fssil fuel cnsumptin. These things peple d can be direct use f fssil fuels, like riding in a gasline-pwered car, r indirect cntributins t greenhuse gases, such as eating fruit and vegetables that have t be shipped frm faraway places t reach their tables.
    If a child wants t make a cntributin t reducing glbal warming, he shuld ride a bicycle t the near park, the schl, his friend's huse, r anywhere else nt s far instead f taking a car. Or he may try t walk r jg, which is als helpful. In additin, althugh trains and buses ften run n fssil fuels, n average, each persn uses less energy and prduces less pllutin t take a train r a bus. Next time if children with their parents have t g arund twn r g t smeplace t far t walk t r bike t, take a bus r ther public transprtatin instead f riding a car.
