    Thrugh the years, my mm has taught me many things, nt s much thrugh her 6 , but thrugh her actins. I remember watching her bake cheesecakes, hem (缝边)skirts, 7 manage departments at Macy’s and stand up fr me.
    Hwever, I als remember my mther 8 wrds s she’d appear in a mre favrable light, chsing “friends” wh purpsely said she was 9 , and investing mney in sme wrng places where she 10 cnfidence, skills, and talents.
    I remember all that my mther ften cmplained abut, including explaining her bitter childhd, bring early adulthd, and emtinal prblems. My dad nce 11 me nt t “be like my mther”, but I knew that I have my wn view.
    I enjy life, its 12 and challenge, I am grateful fr my abilities, and fr the peple in life wh help where I am weak.
    I lve mm:that’s never been hard, 13 it's certainly been a struggle t respect the wman wh made s many wrng decisins that led t a nearly 14 life. It’s natural t think f my mther, nt cry fr her, but bless her with a happy life.

    2. Terry Fx never thught he'd live a great life. He liked sprts, but n ne thught he was talented. Hwever, Terry was 1 fr ne reasn—he had determinatin.
    Terry was t shrt fr basketball, but he wrked harder at it. He als practiced crss-cuntry running thugh he didn't like it. Finally he 2 the basketball team and even wn the Athlete f the Year award later.
    During his first year at university, he had a(n) 3 in his right knee, which was s bad that he culdn't stand up. He went t see a dctr. The dctr tld that he had cancer. He was ging t lse ne f his4and be given an artificial ne.

    One night Terry was lking thrugh an article abut Dick Traum, wh als had an artificial leg and had 7 the New Yrk City Marathn. "If he can d it," thught Terry, "I can, t. I'll run acrss Canada and 8 mney fr cancer research. It will be a Marathn f 9 !"
    Terry began t run a little every day. It is 5,300 miles acrss Canada. Terry hped t run thirty t frty miles a day s that it wuld 10 him less than six mnths. Mst f all, he hped t raise $ 1 millin fr cancer research. Because Terry had an artificial leg, running wasn't 11 . Peple supprted Terry. As he ran, they 12 and cheered. Hwever, he had t give up the Marathn after 3,339 miles, with a sharp pain in his chest. He tld the peple befre he left, "I just hpe peple will 13 t give mney." And they did. Mre than $23 millin was given.

    Vlunteering ffers me s many pprtunities t have fun and share 3 stries. It was the first time fr me t wrk n a farm. It was almst a free hliday as fd and accmmdatin were prvided. It was nt ne 4 hliday, hwever, as I had t 5 fifteen hrses! I sn discvered that I was a ( n ) 6 farmer but it did nt matter because I made sme great friends and als imprved my French.
