Step I Greeting and lead-in
Greet the students and get them t review what they learned frm the frmer text.

1. Listen t the tape and learn abut the cntents f lessn thirty-nine.
Listen t the tape and try t finish the exercise 1 frm “Let’s D it”.
2. Get the students t read the text and finish the exercise 2 frm “Let’s D It”.
3. Grasp the imprtant sentences f the text.
Phrases:

lng and high jumps 跳远和跳高 ball thrwing 扔铅球
well dne做得很好 in the way 挡道
have a lt f fun 有许多乐趣
Sentences：
1) Sprts Day was a great success this year! 今年的运动会非常成功！
sprts day 意为“（学校）运动会；运动日”
success 是名词，意为“成功”，当表示抽象意义的“成功”的时候，是不可数名词；当表示“一个成功的人，一件成功的事”的时候，是可数名词。
2）All the students and teachers frm Grade 7,8 and 9 tk part in the sprts events. 所有七、八、九年级的老师们和同学们都参加了比赛项目。
event 是名词，意思是“事件，大事，项目”。
3）Everyne wrked very hard, and we all gt sme gd exercise. 每个人都很努力，我们都得到了很好的锻炼。
