Class Opening:
1.Check the hmewrk.
2.Ask tw r three students t read alud their written prpsals t their parents r neighburs. Encurage thers t add their wn suggestins.
Student Bk:
Step 1. Lead in: What kinds f rubbish d yu ften thrw every day? Can yu name them? What can be recycled? Ask the students t have a discussin abut the kind f rubbish and at the same time new wrds can be taught by talking abut sme given pictures.
Step 2. Play the auditape. Ask the students t listen t the tape while thinking abut the questin:
What makes the mst garbage?
Step 3. Immersin Reading:
1. Have the students read the dialgue quickly and finish Ex.2 in the activity bk.
2. Read the dialgue carefully again and have a further study abut it. Encurage the students t slve their prblems in the reading by c-perative learning.
Step 5. Fcus Explanatin and Practice:
In rder t help the students understand the dialgue crrectly and master the mastery cntents, accrding t their study, I’ll explain and practice sme f the fllwing language pints:
1. Jenny has emptied tw bags f garbage nt the flr.
empty 可作形容词或动词，意思是“空的；倒空”。
E.g. There is an empty bttle n the table.
Can yu empty the plates fr me?
2. Can I help yu srt it?
提供帮助常用句式: Can I help yu? / What can I d fr yu? 答语: Yes, please. / N, thanks.
srt 可作名词或动词, 意思是“类；分类”。
E.g. What srt f peple are they?
We must srt ut the bad apples frm the gd.
3. That’s everything that isn’t glass, metal, plastic r paper.That isn’t glass , metal, plastic r paper是定语从句，用来修饰先行词everything，关系代词只能用that, 不能用which.
4. Gd heavens! S much garbage!
gd heavens意思是“天哪”，表示惊讶、不相信等。
5. That’s the same weight as a small car!
the same …as意思是“和……一样”。 same前必须加the。Fr example：
They have the same ppulatin（人口） as we d.
反义词组为： be different frm / than/ t… “与……不同”。
Step 6. Play the auditape. Ask the students t listen and repeat, then act ut the dialgue in grups f three.
Class Activity: Cme t “Unit Prject”.
1. Ask the students t read the structins f the prject with sme questins, such as: What did this prject ask yu t d first? Why? Help them make clear the specific requirements, gals and expectant result f the prject.
2. Cllect the garbage which the students have picked up in the schl yard and their neighburhd.
3. Divide the class int small grups. Prvide each grup with five empty bags and sme f the garbage that has been cllected. Ask students t srt the garbage int separate bags-- paper, plastic, metal, glass and thers. Require them t use their English vcabulary.
4. Cmpare numbers f the garbage which they’ve srted.
5. Have students wrk in the same grups r in new grups. Each grup will discuss and make a pster abut what things they can d t help reduce pllutin in the wrld.
If the prject cannt be finished in ne lessn, it can be cntinued in the next lessn.
