The small, cmmunity fd bank in Flrida has served thusands f families ver the years. “I think peple in this cmmunity withut the Children’s Table wuld be hungry,” said Stacey, the rganizatin’s peratins manager.
      Brwn started the rganizatin with his wife in Levy Cunty, and they have since expanded t serve abut 10 cunties. These are cunties with high pverty rates, little t n public transprtatin, and many areas that culd be cnsidered “fd deserts”.
      “Thrugh the years, a family wuld call late in the evening t say, ‘I’ve gt n way t feed my family,’ and they have gne, laded up bxes f fd, and driven it hwever far they needed t make sure that family has fd,” said Twmbly, a wrker at Flrida Department f Children and Families.

Fewer than 10,000 breeding (繁殖) pairs f the small, black and white African penguin are left glbally, accrding t scientists, and the species was listed as critically endangered last year by the Internatinal Unin fr Cnservatin f Nature (IUCN).
      Tw f the mst imprtant breeding habitats near Cape Twn cllapsed between 2004 and 2011, with sme 62,000 birds estimated t have died, the study by the UK’s University f Exeter and the Suth African Department f Frestry, Fisheries and the Envirnment said. In thse eight years, sardine (沙丁鱼) ppulatins in Suth African waters — a main fd surce fr penguins — were cnsistently belw 25% f their peak level, said c-authr and bilgist Richard Sherley.
