Sixty years ag, human beings first reached the tp f Munt Qmlangma, knwn as Munt Everest in the West. But the increase in climbers is turning the wrld’s highest muntain int the “wrld’s highest junkyard(垃圾场)”.
Every year, mre than 700 climbers spend nearly tw mnths n Munt Qmlangma. They have left human waste and all kinds f rubbish, including xygen bttles, brken tents, and plastic bags, accrding t Ang Tshering Sherpa, chief f the Nepal Muntaineering Assciatin.
“The waste has becme a health danger t peple in the area since they depend n water frm rivers fed by the melting glaciers(融化的冰川),” Sherpa said.
Mre and mre peple have realized the danger that Munt Qmlangma is facing and they are nw taking active actins.
