      On 26 December 2004, Tilly Smith, a 10-year-ld English schlgirl, and her family were n hliday in Phuket, Thailand. Everyne was enjying the beautiful weather that mrning. Sme peple were swimming in the sea, and sme were relaxing n the beach. But while Tilly was walking alng the beach with her family, she nticed smething strange. Thick white frth was frming n tp f the waves. Next, she saw that the waves were cming in instead f ging ut.

      It happened n 26 December 2004, in Phuket, Thailand.
      Tilly Smith and her family, and ther turists were n the beach. Sme peple were swimming in the sea, and sme were relaxing n the beach.
      Just then, she remembered smething imprtant. Tw weeks befre, her gegraphy teacher had explained that earthquakes under the sea culd create dangerus waves called tsunamis! “I knw what’s ging t happen! There’s ging t be a big wave,” Tilly cried. Unfrtunately, her family didn’t believe her and wanted t cntinue their walk. Hwever, Tilly refused t take a single step further. Finally, her mther decided t cntinue the walk alne, and the rest f her family returned t the htel.

Thanks t her knwledge and quick thinking, ne schlgirl was able t save ver 100 lives.
