Did yu knw that lng ag, Singapre was full f wetlands, lakes, and small villages? Even tday, animals

Singapre wants t becme a “City in Nature” by 2030. The city is finding ways t prtect natural spaces.
Scientists are creating slutins t help wildlife live safely alngside peple. STEM (Science, Technlgy,
Engineering, and Mathematics) is key t these ideas.
Animals ften crss highways and risk being hit by cars. Experts use technlgy like cameras and sund
devices t study animal mvement and decide where t build safe crssings. In 2019, the Mandai Wildlife Grup
(MWG) built a 140-meter-lng bridge ver a highway just fr animals. Cameras shwed that ver 100 species used

T live tgether peacefully, peple need t understand why animals cme near them and hw they behave.
Animal welfare grups advise peple t d their part t avid attracting wildlife t their hmes. This includes nt
carrying visible plastic bags in areas with mnkeys and string waste prperly. Educatin is the first step tward
change. As ne expert said, “Harmny begins with respect.” By learning abut animals and respecting their hmes,
everyne can help prtect them. Singapre’s jurney shws that with cmmunity effrt and STEM, peple and
      wildlife can share spaces peacefully.
      8. Hw is STEM primarily used t prtect wildlife in Singapre?
      A. By building mre rads and bridges.

      B. It encurages peple t keep wild animals as pets.
      C. It mainly fcuses n finding new hmes fr wild animals.
      D. It believes peple shuld learn t deal with wildlife prperly.
      10. What is ne suggested way t avid attracting wildlife t residential areas?
      A. Making lud nises t scare animals away.
      B. Feeding animals regularly t keep them calm.
      C. String waste prperly and keeping plastic bags ut f sight.
      D. Building higher fences and setting barriers arund hmes.
      11. What is the main purpse f the passage?
      A. T discuss the dangers wild animals face in cities.
      B. T explain hw STEM helps humans and wildlife cexist.
      C. T encurage readers t visit the natural parks in Singapre.

may use them as quick answers, which will hurt their ability t learn basic learning skills,” says Emily Deleu,
assistant teaching prfessr f business management cmmunicatin at Carnegie Melln University. “Is that gd
fr them in the lng term?” she asks. “This is still an pen questin.”
T prtect students, she suggests “we need gvernment rules t give advice t schls.” And she adds, “The
biggest risk f all with AI is ding nthing. The wrld has changed and is changing. We shuld change hw we
teach and what we teach t welcme AI.”
      12. What des the 2024 study shw abut AI-pwered tutring tls?
      A. They can help develp students’ interest in maths.

      B. They can make persnalised tutring affrdable fr mst peple.
      C. They will pass sme biases n t learners.
      D. They may present fictin as fact.
      14. What d experts want educatinal institutins t d?

      B. Develp mre AI-pwered tutring tls.
