Tw lng-lst rgan (管风琴) pieces cmpsed by yung Jhann Sebastian
Bach were recently cnfirmed as genuine in Germany. Finally, the cmpsitins were publicly perfrmed fr the first time in 300 years.
Bach was a German cmpser f classical music in the late 1600s and early
1700s. He is knwn fr his cmplicated and clever musical patterns. Bach, like
Wlfgang Amadeus Mzart, exhibited his talent at a yung age. As a yung by,
Bach tk his first keybard lessns frm his lder brther. As a schlby, he
prduced “tw f the mst difficult rgan cmpsitins f his day.” Like Beethven’s and Mzart’s, his music is still played daily arund the wrld.
The newest additins t Bach’s fficial catalg were identified by Peter Wllny, directr f the Bach Archive (档案馆) in Leipzig. Back in 1992, while researching
Bach’s ldest sn and gathering materials fr his paper at Belgium’s Ryal Library, he fund tw scres — pieces f written music — frm the 1700s, which were s
strikingly riginal that he had cpies made and set them aside. The scres were fr a special kind f music called a chacnne (恰空舞曲). A chacnne has sme expected patterns, but these tw pieces brke thse patterns in unusual ways. Wh was the
cmpser? Over the next 30 years, Wllny held nt thse cpies, thinking abut them frm time t time.
Since Wllny discvered the wrks, he has spared n effrt t gather evidence pinting t Bach’s authrship. Hwever, the handwriting wasn’t Bach’s. Wllny
didn’t give up. Finally, his c-wrker Bernd Kska fund a 1729 jb applicatin in a Thuringian church archive. The writer, rganist Salmn Günther Jhn, claimed t be a frmer student f Bach’s in Arnstadt — where Bach nce wrked as a church
rganist. Jhn had taken lessns frm Bach between 1705 and 1707. With this clue, Wllny matched the scres’ handwriting t ther dcuments by Jhn, reasning Jhn
may have cpied the cmpsitins during their 1705 lessns. Schlars verseeing Bach’s fficial catalg agreed with his assessment.
4 .Why des the authr mentin Beethven and Mzart?
      A .T shw Bach’s glbal music influence.
B .T prve they were as famus as Bach.
C .T explain they inspired Bach musically.
D .T emphasize their extrardinary musical talent.
5 .What drew Wllny’s attentin t the tw scres?
A .Their unique creativity. B .Their similarity t Bach’s musical pattern.
      C .The recmmendatin f Bach’s sn. D .His study n a chacnne.
6 .What des the last paragraph mainly talk abut?
A .Hw Wllny fund the tw ld scres.B .When Jhn became Bach’s student.
C .Why Jhn cpied Bach’s music in the 1700s. D .Hw Wllny cnfirmed Bach as the cmpser.
7 .Which wrd best describes Wllny?
      A .Ambitius. B .Independent. C .Determined. D .Demanding.

We live in a time f grwing anxiety and fear. As AI becmes mre capable and widespread in daily rutines, anxieties surrunding it are likely t intensify. As with
any frm f anxiety, it’s imprtant t acknwledge yur feelings and take steps t avid becming verwhelmed.
Psychlgists suggest several specific strategies fr managing anxiety abut
generative AI. These include trying ut AI tls t figure ut hw and where they can be useful, taking breaks frm technlgy t restre and recharge, building new skills, and pursuing activities that activate human creativity and imaginatin.
I wuld like t expand n the third strategy — building new skills. In a recent
research study, my clleagues and I investigated the skills that are required t succeed in the future f wrk. We reviewed six research studies frm arund the wrld and
created a skill list f the future wrk skills.
We identified skills that were mst frequently identified as key fr the future f wrk: cllabratin, cmmunicatin, creativity and innvatin, critical thinking,
crss-cultural ability, decisin-making and judgment, learning / willingness t learn, prblem-slving and scial intelligence / perceptiveness.
Imprtantly, all these skills are “human” skills, meaning nt digital r
technlgical. In this cntext, perhaps ne f the mst effective respnses t anxiety abut AI is fcusing n develping ur wn human capacities.
Researchers argue that the disruptive ptential f AI in the wrkplace invlves ne f three channels: replacing aspects f human wrk; cmplementing (补充) r enhancing human wrkers and their skills; and creating new tasks fr wrkers. Of
these, the secnd — cmplementing r enhancing human wrkers — might be the best path frward. Rather than being viewed nly as a threat, generative AI can be seen as a tl that enhances human abilities.
Explring hw ur wn cgnitive (认知的) and creative capacities culd be
enhanced thrugh “cllabrative intelligence” with generative AI, might be a useful antidte t being anxius abut it. Such cperatin can als help us rethink ur
relatinship with wrk and find a strnger sense f purpse in a fast-changing wrld.
8 .What did the authr’s recent research fcus n?
A .AI’s future develpment. B .Practical wrkplace skills.
      C .AI’s negative effects n humans. D .Prper ways t apply AI.
9 .What is the secnd channel mainly abut accrding t paragraph 6?
      A .Creating new jb pprtunities.
B .Ensuring the safety f wrking cnditins.
C .Preventing human jbs frm being taken ver by AI.
D .Imprving humans themselves by making use f AI.
10 .What des the underlined wrd “antidte” in the last paragraph mean?
      A .Slutin. B .Cnsequence. C .Principle. D .Reference.
11 .What is the authr’s purpse f writing the text?
      A .T analyze AI’s rapid develpment.
      B .T illustrate peple’s anxiety ver AI.
C .T ffer peple advice t meet AI challenges.
D .T infrm peple f the threats presented by AI.
      D
Just a few years ag, agricultural drnes (农业无人机) were expensive, small and difficult t use, limiting their appeal t farmers. In cntrast, tday’s mdels can be
flwn immediately after purchase and carry lads weighing up t 220 punds (100 kg).
Agricultural drnes are nw similar t flying tractrs (空中拖拉机) — they can perfrm numerus tasks using different hardware attachments. Cmmn uses fr
drnes n farms include spraying (喷洒) crps, spreading fertilizer, swing seeds, transprting prduce, dispensing fish feeds, painting greenhuses, mnitring
livestck lcatins and well-being, mapping field tpgraphy and drainage, and
measuring crp health. These features make drnes valuable fr grwing numerus crps n farms f all sizes.
Histrically, mst agricultural technlgy — tractrs, fr example — has spread frm high-incme cuntries t middle-and then lwer-incme nes ver the curse f many decades. Drnes partially reversed (使完全相反) and dramatically accelerated this pattern, spreading first frm East Asia t Sutheast Asia, then t Latin America, and finally t Nrth America and Eurpe. Their use in higher-incme regins is mre limited but is accelerating rapidly in the U.S.
Shifting frm applying chemicals with backpack sprayers t drnes
substantially reduces the risk f direct expsure t txins fr farmers and farm
wrkers. Hwever, because drnes usually spray frm a height f at least 6 feet (2
meters), if used imprperly, they can spread drplets cntaining pesticides r
herbicides t neighbring farms, waterways r bystanders. That can damage crps and endanger peple and nature.
Drnes, which spray and spread fertilizers and seeds evenly and efficiently, save
farmers time and mney, s that less is wasted. Meanwhile, they reduce the need fr smallhlders — peple wh farm less than 5 acres (2 hectares) — t d dangerus
and tiring manual spraying and spreading wrk n their wn farms. They als remve the need t hire wrkers t d the same. Hwever, gvernments may need t find
ways t help displaced wrkers find new jbs.
In cmbinatin, these factrs may increase the amunt f fd that can be
prduced n each acre f land, while reducing the amunt f resurces needed t d s. In the past five years, millins f farmers arund the wrld have embraced drnes.
12 .What can be knwn abut agricultural drnes frm paragraph 2?
A .They enjy great ppularity. B .They cme with multiple functins.
C.They are quite affrdable. D.They cause widespread unemplyment.
13 .What is special abut agricultural drnes?
A .Their spreading pattern. B .Their perating principle.
C .Their research and develpment. D .Their lw-price marketing strategy.
14 .What is the authr’s attitude t agricultural drnes?
      A .Objective. B .Unclear. C .Dubtful. D .Dismissive.
15 .What can be a suitable title fr the text?
      A .Drnes Revlutinize American Agriculture
B .Drnes Increase Farmers’ Wrking Csts
C .Agricultural Drnes Are Taking Off Glbally
      D .Agricultural Drnes D Gd t Envirnment
