The text, titled Yur Life Is What Yu Make It, is a reading text in Unit 1, Mdule
1. It is a featured reprt whse theme belngs t “man and eg”. It tells the stry f a cllege graduate Zhang Tian, wh gave up ging t big cities and decided t be a vlunteer teacher in a remte village in Guizhu Prvince. He went t the schl with gd wishes nly t find that situatins there were quite beynd his expectatin. The pr wrking cnditins, the shabby classrm and the lack f teaching equipment all std ut. Hwever, he struggled against all f the difficulties, intrducing varius curses, helping villagers sell prducts nline and even leading the lcal peple t get rid f pverty. Finally, his effrts paid ff and he made great changes t students, the lcal villagers and himself. In a way, nt nly des he achieve his self-value but he als shulders his wn scial respnsibility.

1. Obtain and srt factual infrmatin f Zhang Tian’s vlunteer teaching, such as reasns, situatins, living and wrking cnditins, the difficulties he met and ways t deal with them.
2. Describe Zhang Tian’s experience and cntributins and evaluate the reasns t be a vlunteer teacher.
