The Pacific Nrthwest’s misty wds were nt just Rsemary’s backyard — they were her
first classrm. Nw, as Respnse’s new Cmmunity Educatin Crdinatr, she spreads that “educatin-thrugh-experience” spirit everywhere, turning lessns int stries kids will never frget.
Her favrite wilderness adventure unflded n a spring mrning with a grup f furth
graders. Their task was simple: find three “frest friends” and write a shrt stry abut each ne. At first, the kids hung back, mving their feet slwly as if they wuld rather stay inside playing
vide games — until eight-year-ld Le suddenly ran tward a bush, shuting, “Lk! A squirrel with an acrn (橡树果) bigger than his head!” Rsemary drpped t her knees. “Let’s give him a name,” she said. They settled n “Mr. Nutkin,” and Le wrte quickly in his jurnal: “Mr. Nutkin is in a hurry. Maybe he’s hiding snacks fr winter s he desn’t get hungry.” Sn, everyne
spread acrss the wds. When it was time t leave, Le even put a pinecne (松果) in his pcket, saying it was “fr Mr. Nutkin’s huse s he stays warm”.
Weeks later, an envelpe arrived n Rsemary’s desk, with Le’s messy handwriting n the frnt. Inside was a drawing: a squirrel in a tiny pinecne huse, next t a stick figure labeled
“Me,” and a nte: “Mr. Nutkin mved int his new hme! I put it in my backyard. Can we g back t the wds sn?”
That’s the magic f Rsemary’s teaching: it desn’t end when the class des. Whether she’s in a church, a farm, r a frest, she turns lessns int cnnectins — nes that last lng after the
pinecnes are cllected and the jurnals are clsed. Nw, at Respnse, she still keeps that
pinecne frm the wds in her bag. It’s a reminder: the best educatin is nt abut facts n a
page but abut making kids feel that the wrld is their strybk — and they are the nes wh get t write the fun parts.
24 .Why were the wds regarded as Rsemary’s first classrm?
A .She nce taught her students there. B .She learned by explring nature there.
C .She did research n wildlife there. D .She experienced her first adventure there.
25 .What d the underlined wrds “hung back” in paragraph 2 mean?
A .Lked arund carefully. B .Std still quietly.
C .Stayed behind unwillingly. D .Mved frward bravely.
26 .What is the purpse f paragraph 3?

C .T share mre abut Le’s stry with readers. D .T shw that the lessn had a lasting effect.
27 .Hw des Rsemary teach the kids?
A .By letting them experience things in real life. B .By shwing them nature’s secrets in class.
C.By rganizing utdr games fr them. D.By asking them t write stries abut their life.

Recently, Lndn Fashin Week witnessed a welcme return f bdy diversity n its
catwalks, but at the same time the wider fashin industry is shifting back twards celebrating
super-thin mdels. Several emerging designers featured mdels f varius shapes and sizes,
ranging frm UK size 10 t 16, ften called “mid-size”, and plus-size mdels, frm size 18
upwards. This mve cmes at a time when experts wrry that past prgress in size inclusivity (包容性) is being reduced, with a trubling return t prmting thinness.
Karline Vitt, a Brazilian designer based in Lndn, was ne f thse speaking ut fr
change. At her first catwalk shw in tw years, she questined why curvy (曲线美的) mdels
were disappearing. Her brand includes sizes frm UK 8 t 22, and she chse mdels wh fit thse sizes. This allwed the audience t see hw her designs actually lk n real bdies. With a small budget, 23 mdels f different sizes tk part, many even paying their wn travel csts frm
places like Brazil and the US t supprt her message.
Other designers als champined bdy diversity. Phebe English held pen casting calls t find everyday peple with different bdy shapes. Sinead Grey designed her clthes specially t highlight and celebrate curves. Tgether, they std against the return f super-thin beauty
      standards.
Hwever, casting directrs pint ut that while new designers supprt bdy diversity, majr luxury brands need t lead the way. These big names shape what is seen as desirable and
acceptable fr smaller labels. Sadly, there has been a recent drp in the use f plus-size mdels acrss the industry, partly influenced by a cultural shift tward thinness in Hllywd and
      elsewhere.
Despite this, Vitt remains hpeful. She believes inclusivity is nt just a passing trend but a real cmmitment fr many designers, especially thse led by wmen wh understand the pressure
t lk a certain way. She pints t ther female-led, size-inclusive brands as pineers f real change. Fr her, shwing real bdies n the catwalk is nt just abut fashin — it is persnal.
28 .What d experts think f the recent change in the fashin industry?
A .It’s a welcme return. B .It puts past prgress at risk.
C .It will end the use f thin mdels. D .It prmtes bdy diversity.
29 .Why are Phebe English and Sinead Grey mentined?
A .T list mre supprters f bdy diversity. B .T shw their wn special clthing styles.
C .T intrduce ways f finding rdinary mdels. D .T prve the ppularity f their new brands.
30 .What des the text imply abut majr luxury fashin brands?
A.They have been actively prmting bdy diversity. B.They are the main frce behind size inclusivity.
C .They strngly supprt yung designers’ chices. D .They are nt ding enugh t set a psitive example.
31 .What is Karline Vitt’s attitude twards the future f size inclusivity?
      A .Wrried. B .Dubtful. C .Optimistic. D .Indifferent.
      D
In a cntest fr jbs requiring the mst patience, art restratin (修复) might take first place. Traditinally, restrers repair paintings by recreating the artwrk’s exact clrs t fill in the
damage, ne spt at a time. Even with X-ray imaging and clring analyses, several parts f the expensive prcess, such as the cleaning and restring, are dne by hand. Meanwhile, direct
restring might harm the painter’s riginal visin.
That’s where Alex Kachkine cmes in. The MIT student has develped a way t apply
digital restratins nt a damaged painting. In shrt, the apprach uses pre-existing AI tls t create a digital versin f what the freshly painted artwrk wuld have lked like. Based n this versin, Kachkine’s new sftware creates a digital map f the retuches (修复点) with exact
clrs t fill the gaps in the painting.
The digital map is then printed nt tw layers f thin, transparent (透明的) film — ne with clred retuches and ne with the same pattern in white. This mask is attached t the
painting t psitin the retuches, which helps achieve a faithful restratin in hurs instead f mnths.
Kachkine tested the apprach n a 15th-century il painting in need f restratin, by a
Dutch artist whse name is nw unknwn. The retuches were generated by matching the
surrunding clr, cpying similar patterns visible elsewhere in the painting r the artist’s style in ther wrks. The painting’s 5,612 damaged regins were filled with 57,314 different clrs in 3.5 hurs — 66 hurs faster than traditinal methds wuld have likely taken.
The new prcess still raises cncerns, such as whether the applied film affects the viewing experience r whether AI-generated crrectins are accurate. Still, Kachkine says this technique
culd help address the many damaged artwrks in strage rms, enabling restratin f cuntless paintings cnsidered nt wrth high cnservatin budgets.
32 .What can we knw abut traditinal art restratin?
A .It causes mre damage. B .It lacks technical supprt.
C .It takes a lt f time and effrt. D .It adds value f an artwrk.
      33 .What can Kachkine’s new sftware d?
A .Decrate the damaged paintings. B .Create a detailed cpy f the painting.
C .Make a map f clred retuches. D .Prmte the applicatin f AI tls.
34 .Hw were the retuches f the 15th-century il painting achieved?
A .By applying extra clrs. B .By referring t ther painters’ wrks.
C .By learning frm traditinal methds. D .By studying the artist’s painting techniques.
35 .Which f the fllwing is a suitable title fr the text?
A .Hw AI Influences Our Future. B .A New Brush fr Art Restratin.
C .When Restratin Meets Tight Budgets. D .A Rising Restrer f Ancient Paintings.
