Skimming Skills
Quickly lk thrugh the text t get the main idea. When skimming the passage abut students' favrite subjects, students shuld be able t identify the verall tpic, such as that different students have different favrite subjects and reasns fr their chices.
Scanning Skills
Search fr specific details in the text. Fr example, when lking fr the reasn why a particular student likes a certain subject, students use scanning skills t find the relevant sentences in the text.
Inferring frm Cntext
Figure ut the meaning f unfamiliar wrds r phrases based n the surrunding text. If the text says "He is gd at wrking ut cmplex prblems in maths class", students can infer that "wrking ut" means "slving" frm the cntext f a maths class.

I. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Warming - up Activity
Greet the students with enthusiasm. Start by quickly reviewing sme schl subject vcabulary. Write several subject - related wrds n the blackbard, such as "math", "science", "English", "music", etc. Then, play a quick - respnse game. Pint t a wrd and ask students t quickly say a sentence related t that subject, like "I like English because I can read interesting stries." Pse an engaging questin: "We all have ur wn ideas abut schl subjects. But d yu knw hw students frm ther places feel abut their subjects? II. Pre - reading (5 minutes)
Vcabulary Intrductin
Present the new vcabulary wrds relevant t this sectin n the PPT. Wrds like "AM", "PM", "French", "excellent", "instrument", "singer", "future", "term", "prblem", "magic", "life", "scientist" are shwn ne by ne. Prnunce each wrd clearly, and ask students t repeat after yu multiple times. Explain the meaning f each wrd simply and vividly. Predictin Activity
