In many cases, wlves will drive away unwelcme grizzly bears when they get t clse t their pack,r a bear will scare ff wlves entering their territry. But a vide, which was sht in 2021,shws a grizzly bear and wlves walked tgether fr several minutes.S what’s ging n here?
It may be heartwarming t think the bear has becme an hnrary pack member, but in reality,it isn’t.Bears will smetimes steal a wlf pack’s kill if they are hungry enugh, accrding t Daniel MacNulty,a wildlife eclgist at Utah State University.
In Yellwstne, grizzlies are seen mre ften in the fall as they venture ut t cnsume as much fd as pssible befre winter hibernatin.During this perid, knwn as “hyperphagia”,bears take risks t btain mre calries—like stealing wlves’ fd.

The wlves are likely als running the same calculatins when deciding whether t drive ff a grizzly and risk injuring members f the pack if the animal fights back,he adds. It’s nt unusual fr a hungry bear t steal fd frm ther animals, including muntain lins.
Daniel led a 2022 study in Yellwstne that fund a bear’s presence can decrease a wlf pack’s verall kill rate, likely because the wlves wait arund t see if the grizzly leaves behind sme after stealing their kill.Oftentimes, this is less dangerus fr the wlves than attempting anther hunt,as they can be injured by their prey(猎物).
A grizzly bear traveling arund a wlf pack fr weeks at a time has rarely been dcumented n camera. But Yellwstne is different. The park’s pen grasslands allw fr prime wildlife viewing.
“Yellwstne has very large packs f wlves,” Daniel says.“And they have grizzly bears that verlap with them, which is nt uncmmn, but they d s in very pen and easily viewable landscapes. It can be fairly difficult t bserve thse srts f interspecies interactins in ther places.”

String tmates can be quite difficult fr many peple,as they’re ften placed in the chill f the fridge alngside ther fruits and vegetables. 16 Ck and kitchen expert Emma, has spilled the beans n keeping thse red beauties tasty, insisting that rm temperature is where it’s at when it cmes t strage.
She explained:“The best place t stre tmates is n yur kitchen wrktp at rm temperature.Keep them away frm any heat surce.” T avid bruises(擦伤) n these delicate fruits and ensure they stay in tip-tp cnditin,Emma recmmends laying them ut in a flat dish rather than piling them in a bwl. 17
When it cmes t the big chill,it’s advised that tmates nly make the trip t the fridge nce they’ve hit peak ripeness. 18 That is because ding s can preserve their deliciusness.Emma warned:“Yu shuldn’t refrigerate tmates unless they’ve been cut.”
19 “If the tmates are at their perfect ripeness,r the weather is particularly ht—I actually DO recmmend that yu stre yur tmates in the fridge,” says Emma.
Keeping tmates fresh at rm temperature requires sme simple steps, thugh.Firstly, remve the stems frm the tmates as they can draw misture(水分) away. 20 String the tmates in this way nt nly helps keep misture but als prtects the bruises frm bacteria by minimising its expsure.

根据第三段末句“it’s stred in a huge cmputer file that’s usually called the ‘blckchain’”可知,区块链的作用是存储比特币的所有交易信息。
根据文章第三段“Messaging and scial media—in particular,Instagram—were the greatest drivers f phne usage”可知,青少年使用手机的主要驱动力是发信息和社交媒体。
文章第六段提到“smartphnes aren’t exactly being used with nble intentins”,即智能手机的使用并非总是出于正当目的,与B选项内容一致。
根据第二段中“Bears will smetimes steal a wlf pack’s kill if they are hungry enugh”可知,饥饿是造成熊与狼同行的原因。
根据第六段中“ because the wlves wait arund t see if the grizzly leaves behind sme after stealing their kill”可知,熊的存在会降低狼群的整体猎杀率,可能是因为狼会等着看灰熊是否会留下残羹剩饭。
