      What: This lessn is the first perid f Unit 1, a listening and speaking class. In 1a, students need t match the activities with the pictures.1b invlves listening t interviews and cmpleting the sentences with students' activities.1c allws students t listen again and match the purpses with the statements frm 1b.1d is a discussin abut free-time activities, including exchanges f the activities and the reasns fr ding them.2a explres the challenges f the tw activities “ice skating” and “swimming”. 2b is t listen t the cnversatin between Fu Xing and Emma and tick the discussed cntent. 2c is t listen again and cmplete the sentences. 2d is t share the experiences f ding a favurite free-time activity fr the first time.
      Why: Thrugh vcabulary matching, listening cmprehensin and ral expressins, students can imprve their mastery f vcabulary related t free-time activities, exercise their ability t capture listening infrmatin, prmte cmmunicatin in English abut leisure life, and enhance their cmprehensive use f language. By presenting varius free-time activities, students can learn abut diverse ways f relaxatin, understand the prcess f vercming difficulties in activities(such as Emma's ice skating and Fu Xing's fear f water), and develp a psitive attitude in the face f challenges. At the same time, students are encuraged t explre and share their wn favurite free-time activity and respect diverse interests.

They are cncise, easy t understand and imitate, meeting students' language needs at this learning stage.

The theme mainly centres n cmmunicatin between Peter and Yaming abut their free-time activities, cvering tw activities: calligraphy and the guitar learning. The cmmunicatin cntent invlves the details f the activities, feelings during the learning prcess, reasns fr chsing them, etc. Finally, they reach agreement t teach each ther.
      Why: It presents the scenaris f teenagers' free-time activities and cmmunicatin.
