      Vegetarian fds are nt equally healthy, accrding t the new research at ESC Cngress 2020. Dr. Matina said, “This finding is clearer in wmen. The recent research has shwn that wmen tend t eat mre plant-based fds and fewer animal-based prducts than men. But ur study suggests this des nt ensure healthier fd chices r in turn better health cnditin.”
      Mst studies see plant-based diets simply as “vegetarian” r “lw in meat”, thus treating all plant-based fds as equals. Hwever, this study examined the type f plant-based fds, in additin t the verall amunt. Healthy plant-based prducts were made up f fruits, vegetables and cffee while unhealthy plant-based prducts included juices, ptates and sweets.
      The study examined the link between the quantity(数量) and quality f plant-based fds and heart health ver a 10-year perid. In 2011, the study selected 146 fat adults living in Athens with nrmal bld pressure and bld sugar. Diet was studied thrugh a questinnaire abut usual habits in the year. It listed 156 fds and drinks cmmnly had in Greece.
      Within ten years, nearly half f these fat participants develped high bld pressure and high bld sugar, thugh mst f them preferred plant-based fds. The rest wh ate quality plant-based fds, hwever, didn’t have these health prblems.
