One f the imprv (即兴表演) classes I attended regularly was taught by Jim Cranna every Saturday afternn. Smetimes, as many as twenty-five t sixty-plus flks shwed up. Jim made sure t fit everyne in s they culd imprve their skills. The class lasted fr three hurs. The usual cast f cmic actrs played imprv cmedy games. And we wuld g t the nearest mini market lcated in the building and get a snack r cffee during breaks.
One day, three f us were standing utside the building, when Rbin William — an internatinally famus actr and cmic walked by, enjying the fresh bay air. Cmpletely frzen, my fellw cmics culdn’t summn up the curage t just say “hi” t Rbin, wh was with a friend. I frze fr a mment, but then I cmpsed myself.
I tld them, “Hey, if yu guys can’t handle it, then I will ask him t cme and jin us fr the secnd half f class.” I culd hear them mumble under their breath, “Yeah, sure, right. Yu’re ging t ask Rbin Williams t cme t ur cmedy class. Gd luck with that ne!”
S I went up t Rbin and his friend and asked him t jin us. “We’re having an imprve cmedy class. We’re n break nw, but we wuld be mst humbled and hnred if yu wuld jin us fr the secnd half f the class.” Rbin lked directly in my eyes and said with little hesitatin, “Okay.” It was like a grwn-up child being asked t cme and play. With that, he and his friend fllwed me up t the class.
When he saw Rbin, Jim said, “Oh my gdness, lk wh Micheline is bringing t class.” Jim’s eyes were all in astnishment and delight. “Why, it’s Rbin Williams!” “Rbin and his friend stayed the rest f the class and at the end f the class, Rbin and Jim perfrmed a skit (滑稽短剧). We actually watched him shape-shift as he prepared physically and mentally fr his made-up character. He gave it his all. It was truly magical.”

根据划线单词上一句“I frze fr a mment(我愣了一会儿)”以及下一句“I tld them, “Hey, if yu guys can’t handle it, then I will ask him t cme and jin us fr the secnd half f class.”
根据文章第三段“I tld them, “Hey, if yu guys can’t handle it, then I will ask him t cme and jin us fr the secnd half f class.” I culd hear them mumble under their breath, “Yeah, sure, right. Yu’re ging t ask Rbin Williams t cme t ur cmedy class. Gd luck with that ne!”(我对他们说:“嘿,如果你们搞不定的话,那我就请他来和我们一起上下半节课。” 结合最后一段“What a delight fr all f us that Saturday afternn! All I knw is that if I hadn’t gathered up the curage t ask Rbin t jin us, nne f us wuld have had that experience.(那个星期六下午我们大家都很高兴! C. A brave attempt is half success(勇敢的尝试是成功的一半)符合题意。故选C项。
根据第二段“Cmpletely frzen, my fellw cmics culdn’t summn up the curage t just say “hi” t Rbin, wh was with a friend.(我的喜剧演员同伴们完全愣住了,没能鼓起勇气向罗宾打招呼,罗宾身边还有一个朋友)”和第三段的“I tld them, “Hey, if yu guys can’t handle it, then I will ask him t cme and jin us fr the secnd half f class.”
