He was cupping bth hands in frnt f him as he walked, being very careful nt t spill the water he carried.I fllwed him secretly as he went int the wds.Branches and thrns(刺) slapped his little face but he did nt try t avid them.He might have a much greater purpse, I thught.As I leaned in t spy n him, I saw the mst amazing sight.Several large deer appeared threatening in frnt f him.But Billy walked right up t them, at the sight f which I almst screamed fr him t get away.A huge buck(雄鹿) was dangerusly clse.But the buck didn’t threaten him nr even mve as Billy knelt dwn.And then I saw a baby deer lying n the grund, bviusly suffering frm thirst and heat, lift its head with great effrt t lap (舔)up the water cupped in my beautiful by’s hands.

Matters quickly went frm bad t frightening when the girl rlled ver nt her stmach.Bauer waited fr the pickup driver t d smething, but he didn’t mve.Maybe he was in shck.
