Step 1 Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet students and have a free talk: “Hell, everyne! Hw was yur weekend? Did yu d anything interesting at hme?”
Shw sme pictures related t family traditins, such as family dinners during festivals, family utings, etc. Ask students: “What kind f family traditins d yu have in yur family? Can yu share ne with us?” This will aruse students' interest and lead t the tpic f this sectin.
Step 2. Vcabulary Learning (8 minutes)
Present new wrds and phrases in 1a ne by ne n the PPT, such as “search fr”, “nd”, “in the crner”, etc. Read them alud with students several times, and then ask students t read them individually.
Use pictures, gestures, r simple English explanatins t help students understand the meanings f these wrds and phrases. Fr example, shw a picture f smene searching fr smething t explain “search fr”.
Let students make sentences with these new wrds and phrases. Invite sme students t share their sentences, and crrect any mistakes in time.
Step 3. Listening Practice (10 minutes)
Befre listening t the audi f 1b, let students lk at the pictures and the wrds in 1a, and predict what they may hear in the cnversatin.
Play the audi fr the first time. Students listen and number the pictures in the rder they hear.
Play the audi again. Students check their answers and then cmplete the sentences in 1c.
After listening, invite students t share their answers. Explain any difficult pints in the listening material, such as new wrds in cntext r sme idimatic expressins.
Step 4. Speaking Activity (10 minutes)
Divide students int pairs. Let them use the wrds and phrases in 1a t make a cnversatin abut a family event. Fr example, they can talk abut searching fr a lst family pht in the crner f the huse.
Walk arund the classrm, bserve students' cnversatins, and give timely guidance and help. Encurage students t use the sentence patterns “Can/Culd yu ” and “Culd ” in their cnversatins.
Invite sme pairs t perfrm their cnversatins in frnt f the class. Other students listen carefully and give feedback, such as cmmenting n the use f vcabulary, sentence patterns, and fluency.
Step 5. Reading and Discussin (7 minutes)
Present the reading passage in 2a. Let students read it silently and answer the questin: “What is the main idea f the passage?”
After reading, have a grup discussin. Ask students: “What kind f family values are mentined in the passage? D yu agree with them? Why r why nt?”
Each grup selects a representative t share their grup's pinins. The teacher summarizes and guides students t think deeply abut family values.

Recite the new wrds and phrases learned in this class.
Write a shrt passage abut a family traditin in yur family, using the wrds and sentence patterns learned in this lessn. The passage shuld be at least 80 wrds.
