二、学情分析

1. 学生能够在实际生活中准确运用所学单词和句型描述朋友或他人的外貌和特点。

四、教学重难点
(一)教学重点
1. 掌握单词“big”、“small”、“tall”、“shrt”、“lng”、“shrt”的发音、拼写和意义。
2. 熟练运用句型“He/She has...”和“He/She is...”进行描述。

1. 单词“tall”和“shrt”、“lng”和“shrt”的区分,以及正确发音。

(一)Warming-up
1. Greetings
T: Hell, bys and girls. Hw are yu tday?
Ss: I'm fine, thank yu. And yu?
T: I'm very well, t. Are yu happy t see yur friends in class tday?
Ss: Yes!
设计意图:通过日常问候,营造轻松和谐的课堂氛围,同时引出“朋友”这一主题,为新课的学习做好铺垫。
2. Revisin
Shw sme pictures f students in the class n the multimedia and ask the students t use the sentence pattern "This is my friend. His/Her name is..." t intrduce their classmates.
Fr example:
Student A: This is my friend. Her name is Mary.
Then ask ther students t repeat the name and say smething like "Hell, Mary." t greet the classmate.
设计意图:复习上节课所学的介绍朋友的句型,巩固学生对已学知识的掌握,同时增强学生之间的互动和对班级同学的熟悉度。
(二)Presentatin
1. Lead-in
Shw a picture f a famus cartn character with bvius physical features, such as Mickey Muse (with big ears) r Draemn (with a shrt bdy and a big head).
T: Lk at this picture. Wh is it? D yu like it? What d yu see abut it?
Ss may answer the name f the character and sme f its bvius features in Chinese r simple English.
T: Yes, it's [character name]. Let's see, it has big ears/ a shrt bdy. Tday we are ging t learn sme wrds t describe these features in English.
设计意图:通过展示学生熟悉的卡通形象,吸引学生的注意力,激发他们的兴趣。以卡通形象的明显特征为切入点,自然地引出本节课要学习的描述外貌特征的单词,让学生在轻松愉快的氛围中初步感知新知识。
2. Learn the new wrds
Teach the wrds "big" and "small"
Shw a big ball and a small ball. Say: "Lk, this is a big ball. Big, big. [bɪɡ]." Let the students repeat several times, emphasizing the prnunciatin f the letter "i". Then pint t the small ball and say: "This is a small ball. Small, small. [smɔːl]." Have the students cmpare the tw balls and say the wrds again.
Ask a student t cme t the frnt and hld the big ball and say "I have a big ball." Then anther student hlds the small ball and says "I have a small ball."
Teach the wrds "tall" and "shrt"
Stand next t a tall student and say: "Lk, he/she is tall. Tall, tall. [tɔːl]." Then stand next t a shrt student and say: "And he/she is shrt. Shrt, shrt. [ʃɔːt]." Let the students bserve the difference and repeat the wrds.
Have the students pair up and cmpare their heights. One student says "I'm tall." and the ther student says "I'm shrt." r "Yu're tall. I'm shrt."
Teach the wrds "lng" and "shrt"
Take ut a lng ruler and a shrt pencil. Say: "This ruler is lng. Lng, lng. [lɔːŋ]." Pint t the pencil and say: "This pencil is shrt. Shrt, shrt. [ʃɔːt]" (Nte that the "shrt" here has a different meaning frm the previus "shrt" fr height, but the prnunciatin is the same. Explain the difference in meaning thrugh the cntext and bjects.)
Ask the students t find ther things in the classrm that are lng r shrt and say the wrds. Fr example, a student may say "The blackbard is lng. The eraser is shrt."

T: Listen carefully and repeat after the recrding. Big, big. [bɪɡ]...
Ss: Big, big. [bɪɡ]...

2. Game: Oppsite Wrds
Divide the students int tw teams. Shw a wrd n the multimedia, such as "big". One team has t quickly say the ppsite wrd "small" and then the ther team takes turns. If a team answers crrectly, they get a pint. If they answer wrng, the ther team has a chance t answer.
Cntinue with ther wrds like "tall - shrt", "lng - shrt" (in the cntext f length).

3. Grup wrk: Describe and Guess
Divide the students int grups f fur. Each student thinks f a friend r a famus persn and describes their physical features using the new wrds and sentences. The ther students in the grup guess wh it is.
Fr example:
Student A: My friend is a girl. She is tall. She has lng hair and big eyes.
Student B, C, D: Is it [a classmate's name]? / Is it a famus star like [a star's name]?
Student A: N, it's nt.
Student B: I knw. Is it [anther pssible name]?
Student A: Yes, yu're right.
After each guess, the students can switch rles and cntinue the game.
Walk arund the grups and ffer help and guidance if necessary. Encurage the students t use mre descriptive wrds and sentences.

Shw sme pictures f children with different physical features n the multimedia. Pint t the pictures and ask the students: "Lk at these pictures. What can yu see? Hw wuld yu describe them?"
Encurage the students t answer in cmplete sentences using the learned wrds and sentences. Fr example:
S1: I can see a by. He is tall. He has shrt hair and big eyes.
S2: I see a girl. She is shrt. She has lng hair and a small nse.
Then ask the students t wrk in pairs and talk abut their wn friends r family members using the sentence patterns "He/She has..." and "He/She is...". They can add mre details if they like.
Fr example:
A: My friend is Li Ming. He is tall and thin. He has big ears and shrt hair. He likes playing basketball.
B: That's cl. My sister is shrt and cute. She has lng hair and small eyes. She likes reading bks.

Ask the students t make a pster abut their best friend. They can draw a picture f their friend and write sme sentences t describe their friend's appearance and characteristics using the wrds and sentences they have learned.
Fr example, they can write: "This is my best friend, [friend's name]. He/She is tall/shrt. He/She has lng/shrt hair and big/small eyes. He/She likes [friend's hbby]."
After they finish, ask sme students t cme t the frnt and shw their psters t the class and intrduce their friends.
The ther students can listen carefully and ask questins if they have any. Fr example: "What's yur friend's favrite clr?" "Des yur friend have any pets?"

Shw the pictures r wrds f "big", "small", "tall", "shrt", "lng", "shrt" n the multimedia ne by ne and ask the students t say the wrds alud.
Then ask the students t make sentences with the sentence patterns "He/She has..." and "He/She is..." using these wrds. Fr example:
T: What can yu say abut this by? (Pint t a picture f a by with shrt hair and big eyes.)
Ss: He has shrt hair and big eyes. He is tall.
Review the usage and meaning f the wrds and sentences with the students, emphasizing the imprtance f using accurate adjectives t describe peple.
