1. Intrduce the rules f stressing the first, secnd, and last syllable f wrds.

Teaching Prcedures
Step 1: Warming up (5 minutes)
Greet the students and have a brief cnversatin abut their experiences in learning
English prnunciatin. Then, play a shrt audi clip f an English speaker and ask
students t ntice the way wrds are prnunced, especially the emphasis n certain
syllables.
Step 2: Presentatin (5 minutes)
1. Present the cncept f wrd stress: "When we say wrds with mre than ne
syllable, we stress ne f the syllables. The stressed syllable sunds strnger. The stress
can be n the first, secnd r last syllable f a wrd."
2. Shw examples f wrds stressing the first syllable: favurite, emperr, pera.
Explain that in these wrds, the first syllable is prnunced mre strngly.
3. Present wrds stressing the secnd syllable: museum, traditin, delicius. Pint
ut the stress pattern in these wrds.
4. Intrduce wrds stressing the last syllable: between, tday, recmmend.
Illustrate hw the last syllable gets the stress.
Step 3: Practice Part A (10 minutes)
1. Play the audi fr the wrds in Part A. Students listen and underline the stressed
syllable f each wrd.
2. Check the answers tgether. Have students repeat the wrds with the crrect
stress.
3. Encurage students t ntice the patterns and similarities amng the wrds with
the same stress placement.
Step 4: Pair Wrk (5 minutes)
1. Students wrk in pairs. One student reads the wrds in Part A alud, and the
ther student listens and prvides feedback n the stress.
2. Switch rles and repeat the activity.
3. The teacher walks arund the classrm t mnitr and ffer assistance if
needed.
Step 5: Reading the Pem (10 minutes)
1. Present the pem t the students. Explain that they need t pay attentin t the
stress f each wrd when reading alud.
2. Have students read the pem silently first t familiarize themselves with the
cntent.
3. The teacher reads the pem alud fr the students, emphasizing the wrd stress.
4. Students read the pem alud tgether. Play the audi fr them t check their
prnunciatin and stress.
Step 6: Summary (5 minutes)
Summarize the main pints f wrd stress: the three pssible psitins f stress
first, secnd, and last syllable. Remind students f the imprtance f crrect wrd stress
fr clear and natural cmmunicatin.
Step 7: Hmewrk (5 minutes)
1. Ask students t find ten wrds with different stress patterns and write them dwn
with the stressed syllable marked.
2. Read the pem at hme and recrd themselves. Listen t the recrding and
analyze their wn prnunciatin and stress.
Teaching Reflectin
After the class, reflect n the teaching prcess. Cnsider if students understd the
cncept well, if the activities were effective, and if there are any areas that need
imprvement fr the next teaching. Make adjustments accrdingly t enhance the
