    Study f the Text
    What: 2a creates a cntext thrugh an illustratin and a listening exercise, letting students learn hw t intrduce their teachers and classmates, and cnslidate target language structures. 2b and 2c are reading exercises based n 2a that require students t lk fr the details. 2d requires students t master the abbreviatins “wh's”, “I'm”, “he's”, and “it's”. 2e is a speaking exercise abut persnal infrmatin, which requires students t retell the key infrmatin f the listening text.
    Why: Students can learn abut Chen Jie, Peter, and Mr Smith by listening t and reading 2a. They can als learn hw t intrduce ne's natinality, class and teacher, ask abut basic infrmatin, and master key expressins f greeting peple. Students can als practise their ability t find details thrugh listening exercises.
    Hw: The cnversatin amng Chen Jie, Peter, and Mr Smith is based n real situatins and clse t everyday life, with expressins such as “Oh, srry! My mistake.” and abbreviated ways f answering questins. The cnversatin shws the target language f learning mre abut each ther. The cre sentence patterns are “This is…”, “What class are yu in?”, “Wh's yur class teacher?” and s n. Key phnetic knwledge is the abbreviated frms f the verb be cntaining written frm and their prnunciatin.
    Teaching Objectives
    By the end f this lessn, students will be able t:
    1.find infrmatin abut Mr Smith and Peter frm listening;
    2.tell the first name and the last name in different cuntries;
    3.learn hw t use “wh's”, “I'm”, “he's”, and “it's” crrectly in cnversatins;

    Why did Peter make a mistake? D yu knw the differences between the first name and the last name in different cuntries?
    In Western cuntries, the first name is the given name, and the last name is the family name.
    In China, we put the first name in the end, and put the family name first.

    crrect prnunciatin and distinguish their similarities and
    differences.

    2.After class, find a family member r a friend t be yur partner and simulate different ccasins t meet new friends and have a cnversatin.
