教学过程
Step I 学习理解
活动一:Research
Ask students t search the Internet and get sme knwledge abut different ways f first aid.
(1)Bleeding
·Psitin the injured persn prperly and keep the injured limb elevated(except fr fracture victims).
·Inspect the wund, flush with distilled water, exert direct pressure by hand ver a dressing, and bandage the wund.
·D nt bandage the wund t tightly that bstruct nrmal bld circulatin t the injured limb.
·Leave the impaled bjects and prtruding bnes in place and prtect the injured frm further mvement.
·Exert direct pressure n the edge f the wund t stp bleeding.
·Recheck bld circulatin f the injured limb after bandaging.
(2)Nsebleed
·Sit the injured dwn with his head leaning frward.
·Ask the injured t breathe with his muth, frcefully pinch the sft part belw his nasal bne and apply a cld dressing t the frehead.
·Ask the injured nt t swallw the bld ldged in his thrat.
·Lsen his tight clthing.
·If bleeding cntinues after pinching the nse fr 10 minutes, cntinue t d s fr anther 10 minutes.
·If bleeding still cntinues, send the injured t the hspital at nce.
(3)Heatstrke
T avid heatstrke, yu shuld halt strenuus activity in ht and humid weather. If yu are still determined t g utdrs, yu shuld:
·wear light lse-fitting clthing.
·rest in a cl place as ften as pssible.
·replenish yur bdily fluids by regularly drinking electrlyte drinks r fruit juice.
Yu shuld als avid alchlic beverages under such circumstances.
(4)Brken bnes
·Stay Safe! The patient was injured smehw. Dn’t get hurt the same way. Fllw universal precautins and wear persnal prtective equipment if yu have it.
·If the ft r hand at the end f the injured extremity is cld r blue, call 120 immediately!
·DO NOT straighten the extremity if it is defrmed—keep it in the psitin fund.
·Stabilize the extremity. Use padding t keep it immbile. Specific brken bnes need specific treatment.
·Put ice n the injury. Never put the ice directly n the skin—put it in a bag first with a layer f clth between the bag and the skin. After hlding ice n the injury fr abut 20 minutes, take it ff fr 20 minutes.
·Elevate the extremity t reduce swelling.
(5)Burn
·Flush the burnt area with cl running water fr several minutes.
·Call 120 fr a severe burn.
·Apply a burn intment r spray fr pain.
Minr burns can be treated with a tpical burn intment r spray t reduce pain. Ointments shuld be water-sluble.
·D nt apply butter r il t any burn. Butter r lard may feel cl because it cmes ut f the refrigeratr, but the ils will trap heat and make the burn deeper ver time.
·Cl the burn
Stp the burning prcess by running the burn under cl water fr at least five minutes. D nt use ice t cl a burn as it can lead t further injury and hypthermia. Avid spraying burns with high pressure, just let the water run ver the burnt area fr as lng as yu can. If an ambulance is cming, dn’t stp cling the burn with running water until the ambulance arrives.

活动二:Make an instructin leaflet
Ask students t wrk in grups and make an instructin leaflet fr giving first aid fr an emergency. Include illustratins fr any pints that are nt clear.

Ask students t wrk in grups and discuss:
·What shuld be included in a first-aid kit?
·Hw the items in the first-aid kit shuld be used, and in which emergencies they shuld be used?

·This prtable first-aid kit is made f durable material with a handle, which is easy t carry. Bag in clur can be printed differently accrding t yur chice.

2. Cllect the items and put them in a bx r cntainer that is easy t stre and find. In mst cases, the items fr a first-aid kit can be bught cheaply at a pharmacy.
3. Draw up an infrmatin sheet t g in the first-aid kit. It shuld include emergency phne numbers, a list f the items, and an explanatin f hw t use the item. Use the table belw t help yu.
4. Presentatin.
Ask students t present their first-aid kit t the class, and intrduce and explain the use f each item.
Step Ⅲ 迁移创新
活动四:Make a PPT r a pster fr the presentatin
Ask students t chse 3~4 classmates t make a new grup. Make a PPT r a pster, and prepare sme questins fr their reprt.
活动五:Make a presentatin
Ask students t pull everything tgether t make a presentatin t the class, where the key aspects f the first-aid kit will be explained by different members f the grup.
活动六:Vte
The class shuld then vte n the best first-aid kit.
【设计意图】通过查找资料,小组讨论,制作PPT或海报,再组织语言,小组展示报告,推选优秀的报告全班分享,这本身就是语言学习和创造的过程。通过这个活动,不仅可以引发学生的思考和对本单元话题的兴趣,而且激发学生用英语表达的愿望和信心,促进他们更好地学习。
