常用的情态动词包括can (culd), may (might), shall (shuld), will (wuld), dare , need, must, had better, used t, have t, ught t等。 本单元主要涉及的情态动词有be able t, dare, have t, had better, need。
be able t d sth. 有能力做某事 可用于大多数时态 was/were able t d sth. I will be able t speak Japanese in anther few mnths.(再过几个月,我 就能讲日语了。) b. They were able t escape frm the building when the fire brke ut.
    be able t与can
    2) dare & need A. dare Hw dare yu say I’m unfair?(你怎么敢说我 不公平?) Yu needn’t cme s early.(你不用这么早来。)

某人需要做某事 sth. need (s) ding/t be dne 某事/物需要被…… a. He needs t earn mre t supprt such a large family. b. This shirt needs washing. = This shirt needs t be washed.
    以need开头的一般疑问句,否定回答用_______,肯定回答用__________;以must开头的一般疑问句,肯定回答用__________,否定回答用________________。
    needn’t/dn’t have t
    3) have t (不得不) 与must相似,可以互换使用,但have t有各种时态,且强调客观需要,否定式为“dn’t have t”。 I have t leave because f the bad weather.
    have t 与must
    4) had better d sth. Yu’d better sit here and have a rest.(你最好 坐在这儿休息一下。)
    b. She had better nt tell lies any mre.(她最 好再也别撒谎了。)c. Hadn’t the dctr better see him?(医生是 不是去看看他比较好?)
Underline the mdals in the intrductin t an app and talk abut their meanings.
