Hwever, genes can’t cntrl everything, argues geneticist Danielle Reed, wh als studies twins. Reed’s research shws that thugh nthing can truly change ur DNA, envirnmental differences that a child experiences befre birth and in their first year can smetimes affect the way the DNA behaves, making even identical twins int very different peple. “What I like t say is that Mther Nature writes sme things in pencil and sme things in pen,” she explains. “Things written in pen yu can’t change.
