That night,I flded up ur pster and started thinking abut all f the things I culd d differently the next year.I wanted t find a tpic I cared abut,ne that interested me.As a beginner f the pian,I was curius abut hw the pian I practised n fr five hurs every week culd make the sunds that it did.I learnt abut smething called “sympathetic resnance”, a phenmenn that allws string t vibrate(振动) tgether when played.I built my next prject arund this and ended up getting first place at the science fair the fllwing year.
Tday,I am 22 years ld,a climate scientist. In the decade since I did my very first science prject,I have wndered a lt abut what it takes t be a gd scientist.T me,what makes a truly gd scientist is what makes a gd persn.
A gd scientist has patience—patience fr thers, patience fr herself r himself, and patience when things g wrng.A few years ag,I had the pprtunity t wrk n a NASA asterid-sample retrieval missin called OSIRIS-Rex.The spacecraft launched in September 2016,headed t the asterid Bennu.Late last year, finally,it reached its destinatin. In fur years,OSIRIS-Rex will bring a piece f the asterid back t Earth s that scientists can learn mre abut it.Scientific discveries d nt take place vernight, and many are small and gradual.Missins like the ne I wrked n ften take years t cmplete.Success almst never cmes quickly r easily.

2.What des the underlined wrd “humility” in paragraph 5 prbably mean?
A.Being mdest. B.Being cautius.
C.Being sceptical.D.Being ambitius.

A.Curisity kills the cat.
B.Practice makes perfect.

4.What is the main purpse f the passage?
A.T evaluate the effect f a science prject.
B.T analyse the persnalities f a scientist.
