4. 问路时经常会用到“向左(右)拐”这样的表达,英语对此有两种常见的说法,即turn left (right)或turn t the left (right)。表示 “在左(右)边”,英语用介词n或at均可。
在复合句中充当宾语的从句叫宾语从句,就是用一个句子来构成主句的宾语。看上表格:
探究宾语从句的用法,要从概念、引导词、主句从句时态以及宾语从句的语序这几个方面探究。
1.概念:什么是宾语从句?

主句中的宾语由完整的句子充当,这个句子就是宾语从句。
2.宾语从句的引导词 复习回顾(unit2 Grammar Fcus)
复习回顾:宾语从句有三类引导词。
I.当从句是陈述句时,用“that”引导.
He said, “Tm is yunger than I ”.
把下列直接引语变成间接引语
He said that Tm was yunger than him.
He says, “Tm is a gd student ”.
He says that Tm is a gd student.
直接引语是陈述句转换成间接引语时,宾语从句用that引导。that 无意义, 可省略。
II. 当从句是一般疑问句或反意疑问句时,用“if”或“whether”引导。
She said, “ D yu ften cme here t read newspaper? ”“Will they g t visit the Great Wall?” he asked.
She asked if (whether) I ften came here t read newspaper.
He asked if (whether) they wuld g t visit the Great Wall.
He wants t knw, “Yu're frm America, aren't yu?“Tm has finished his wrk,hasn't he? The manager asked.
He wants t knw if\whether I am frm America.
The manager asked if\whether Tm had finished his wrk.
直接引语是一般疑问句或反意疑问句变成间接引语时,宾语从句用if\whether引导。if\whether不能省略。
2.宾语从句的引导词 学习(unit3 Grammar Fcus)
引导词除了可以用that, whether , if , 还可以用where,hw, when,wh 等 ____________.
III. 当从句是特殊疑问句时,由连接代词what, whm, whse, which, what 及连接副词 when, where, hw, why引导
He asked, “Where d yu live?”“Hw can we get t the pst-ffice?” he asked.
He asked where I lived.
He asked hw they culd get t the pst-ffice.
直接引语是特殊疑问句变成间接引语时,宾语从句用原来的wh\what 等特殊疑问词引导。特殊疑问词不能省略。
疑问词what, wh, whm, whse, which,when, where, hw, why可引导宾语从句,它们在从句中可作主语、宾语、表语、定语或状语等。

注意: 当疑问代词在宾语从句中作主语时,宾语从句语序不变;另外含有宾语从句的句子的句末标点由主句决定。

1)如果主句是一般现在时或一般将来 时, 宾语从句的时态不受限制, 可根据实际表达的需要来确定。

2)如果主句是一般过去时, 宾语从句用过去时态的某种形式。
I thught (that) he had gne t the twn that day. 我以为他那天进城去了。He tld me where he was ging this summer vacatin.他告诉我今年暑假他要去哪里度假。
3)如果宾语从句叙述的是客观事实、自然现象或科学真理等,从句不受主句时态的限制,用一般现在时。
He said (that) time is mney. 他说时间就是金钱。

探究三:疑问词+不定式
当宾语从句中的主语与主句的主语或宾语一致时,可使用“疑问词+动词不定式(短语)”结构对从句进行改写。如:I really dn’t knw which bk I shuld buy. = I really dn’t knw which bk t buy.Can yu tell me where I can get a dictinary? = Can yu tell me where t get a dictinary?
含有宾语从句的复合句与简单句的转换
(1)若主句的主语和从句的主语一致,可以将疑问词引导的宾语从句转化为“疑问词+动词不定式”结构。

(2)若主句的谓语动词是hpe, agree, wish等,且主句的主语和从句的主语一致时,可以将that引导的宾语从句转化为动词不定式结构。

(3)若主句的谓语动词是see, hear, watch, ntice等时,其后由that引导的宾语从句可以转化为“宾语+宾语补足语(动词原形/动词-ing形式)”。

探究五:宾语从句否定转移
