    Even thugh I’m frequently annyed because my phne has “walked ff” again, my heart is very full. My kids and I are sharing. Were learning t c-exist, t set bundaries, and t think f each ther first. Because f my phne, I’m invlved in my kids’ lives. I knw their friends and their habits, their favrite apps and phts they have taken.     If yu have ever tried t catch a resting butterfly, yu knw it is surprisingly difficult. A new study helps explain why.
    Previus research had suggested that a butterfly's verhead wing clap frces the insect frward. Researchers thught the wing clap likely frmed a pcket f air that shts ut like a jet. But n ne had tested that until nw.
    T analyze their flight, they placed six butterflies ne at a time inside a wind tunnel which was filled with smke and then used a laser t light up the smke just behind the butterfly. Fur high-speed cameras were placed in the tunnel t take phts f the mvement f the butterfly and the smke as the butterfly was taking ff. This let the researchers create a 3D picture f that air mvement as the insect flapped its wings.
    They analyzed a ttal f 25 takeffs by six butterflies. Each included up t three wingbeats after takeff. The butterflies prved mre likely t clap their wings tgether during the first few wingbeats than later in flight.
    The phts shw that frces created by the wings give rise t a flight path. The butterflies rise as their wings mve dwn and sht frward as their wings mve up. A wing clap n takeff, paired with a quick turn, allwed the butterflies t fly away quickly.
