When I waited tables, I always dreaded asking guests fr their water preference. In business settings where tablemates are unfamiliar with each ther, n ne feels cmfrtable answering fr the grup. Guests dining n an expense accunt—at least in a high-end restaurant—typically “splurge”(挥霍)n bttled water. A waiter wuldn’t dare ffend a client by rdering tap water.
    This results in trash bags filled with hundreds f empty glass bttles every night. In thery, the bttles and their packaging are recyclable, but histry shws that, despite ur best intentins, many recyclable prducts end up in landfills anyway.
    We can all agree, hpefully, that whenever pssible, restaurants shuld make mre respnsible chices abut hw their businesses impact the envirnment.
