5.范文：  There have been many great inventions that have changed the way we live.

I think the first great invention is the wheel. It was invented a few thousand years ago and it was made of  wood at that time. I think it’s really such a great invention. It has not only made traveling faster but also made it easier to carry heavy things. However, almost

nobody who invented it. The next important invention is without doubt the telephone. It was invented by an American called Alexander Bell in l876. It was made of plastic and metal. It is used to communicate over distances.

Besides the above, there are still lots of other great inventions. Thanks to these amazing inventions and the great inventors, our lives have been greatly improved.
