    Teaching aims:

    1.Enable students to learn about the contributions,the virtues and the main principle of Dr Lin,and conclude her personalities by using facts and details.

    2.Help students to figure out the structure and language features of the text.

    3.Guide students to combine the real situation with the text and voice their opinions.

    Teaching key points:

    1.Analyse the structure and language features of the biography genre.

    2.Master the way of using the facts and details from the text to draw conclusions.

    Teaching difficult points:

    1.Enable students to judge the language features of an autobiography and catch the key information to understand the text.

    2.Enable students to pay attention to facts and details mentioned by the author to draw conclusions about the topic.

    Step ⅠBefore reading

    1.The teacher can share one important choice in his/her life and lead students talk about some important choices in their lives.

    T:Class, there are important choices in our lives, such as decisions on university studies,jobs and marriage partners because they can determine our future. Id like to share with you one of my important choices in my life...Would you like to share your experience?

    Ss:When I graduated from middle school, I was in a dilemma. I couldnt decide which school I should go to. Finally I chose No.1 high school instead of No.2 high school because it has a good reputation. As it turned out, my choice was right.
