探究三:Language Points
1.辨析:both---and---; either---or---; neither---nor---; not only---but also---
(1)both---and--- “和---都---”:“既---又---”用来连接两个相同的并列成分,如主语、宾语、表语或状语等。当其连接名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。
(2)either---or---或者---或者--- ;neither---nor---既不---也不---;not only---but also---不但---而且--- 上述三个短语在连接两个主语时,请语动词应与离它最近的主语在人称和数上保持一致(就近原则)[练一练]:
①Both she and I are students. 我和她都是学生。
②Either you or I am going there tomorrow.明天要么你去那里,要么我去。
③Neither you nor she is good at drawing.你和她都不擅长绘画。
④Not only I but also Tom and Mary are fond of watching TV.不只我,汤姆和玛丽也都喜欢看电视。
- And over there is a market. 该句为倒装句,主要起强调作用。正常的语序应是“---is/are over there.”意为“那边有---”在英语中,当副词here或there 放在句首且谓语动词为be, come, go, run等时,若主语是名词,则采用完全倒装,即“Here/There+谓语+主语(名词)”。若主语是人称代词,则用不完全倒装,即“Here/There+主语(人称代词)+谓语”。[练一练]:
①Here comes the bus.公共汽车来了。②There she is.她在那边。
3.I also added a Canadian restaurant to complete my map. 句中动词不定式to complete my map作目的状语。表示某一动作或状态的目的,不定式(短语)用作目的状语时通常放在谓语动词的后面,但有时为了使目的更突出,也可以放在句首。如:I went to the supermarket to buy some drinks.我去超市买了饮料。To save time, I decided to take a taxi to go there. 为了节省时间,我决定乘出租车去那里。
