Step 1 Warming-up
Ask Ss to talk about the play.

2. What do you know about a play?

Step 2 Presentation
Ask Ss to read and learn something about a play.

1. Read the excerpt of a play and answer the questions.
2. Read another play called The Cop and the Anthem in groups and fill in the blanks.

How an excerpt of a play looks:
1. Most plays have three to five acts.
2. Each act is divided into “scenes”.
3. The setting shows when and where each scene happens.
4. The characters in a scene will be introduced first.
5. Words in brackets tell what the characters are doing, and how the characters are acting or speaking.
6. This is what the characters are saying to each other.
