Period Five　Writing—Writing an essay

本单元的写作目标是“写一篇小品文”。小品文要求就某个故事或某个现象写一篇短文，说明一定的道理。可以通过以下三个部分来进行写作：

第一部分：简要介绍。介绍故事的梗概。

第二部分：文章的主体。表明观点，列举生活中真实的例子来说明观点。

第三部分：总结全文。重申自己的观点。这部分要注意语言的简练和冲击力，切记冗杂拖拉的表达。

假如你是李华，最近阅读了寓言故事《龟兔赛跑》，请根据下面的提示写一篇小品文。

1．乌龟和兔子赛跑，兔子由于自满和大意输给了乌龟；

2．表明你的观点并列举生活中的例子；

3．总结这个故事说明的道理。

注意：

1．词数80左右；

2．可以适当增加细节，以使行文连贯；

3．开头已给出，不计入总词数。

审题

写作要求是写一篇小品文。写作时应注意下面几点：

1．确定文体：这是一篇小品文，写作中应注意小品文的写作特点。

2．主体时态：文章应以一般过去时和一般现在时为主。

3．主体人称：由于是写一篇小品文，所以人称应该以第三人称为主。

谋篇

第一段：简要介绍该寓言故事。

第二段：结合生活中的例子阐述你的观点。

第三段：总结全文，阐述故事说明的道理。

连词成句

句式升级

1．用定语从句改写句1

At first，the hare ran much faster，which made him very proud.

2．用too...to...改写句2

But in the end the hare was too proud to win the race.

3．用不定式改写句3

To make our dream come true，we should always work hard!

用适当的过渡词语，把以上词汇和句式，再加上联想内容，组成一篇80词左右的英语短文。

One day a hare and a tortoise had a race.At first，the hare ran much faster than the tortoise，which made him very proud.But in the end the hare was too proud to win the race while the tortoise kept on moving and became the winner.

The fable teaches us that if a person is too proud to keep on working hard，he is likely to fail.In our life，there are many people failing in his study due to his pride and also many people reaching their goals by keeping on working hard.

In conclusion，if we make much progress，we shouldn’t feel proud.To make our dream come true，we should always work hard!
