Step 1  Lead-in

Free talk.

Talk about family’s hobbies and family history.

Teacher can ask the class the following questions to lead them to talk：

         How many people are there in your family?

         What hobbies do your families have?

         Do you know any interesting facts about your family history?

Step 2  Presentation 

1. Teach the new words huge, giant, African, hen and phrase not...anymore by talking about the pictures.

Teacher says:

Look at the big man. He is huge. We can also say: He is giant. Where is he from, do you know? He is from Africa. So he is an African giant.

chicken                         hen /hen/ n. 母鸡

The hen will not be a chicken anymore.

Teacher says:

Look！What’s this? It’s a chicken. And what’s this? Yes, it’s a hen. The chicken will grow into the hen. So it will not be a chicken anymore.

2. Get the class to remember the new words and expressions.

Step 3  Listening and answering

  not…anymore （=no more）不再……。表示在数量上或程度上“不再……”，

  not应与系动词be、助动词或情态动词连用，anymore位于句末。anymore也可写作any more.

  You mustn’t waste the water anymore. =You must no more waste the water.

  你绝不能再浪费水了。

 【拓展】

  not…any longer=no longer 不再……。表示时间上不再延续。

  I can’t wait any longer.=I no longer wait.我不能再等了。
