设计说明

首先,通过谈论爱好导入新课，介绍自己的爱好，询问是否加入过俱乐部、是否做过模型、是否在享受爱好的同时也面临过挑战等逐步渗透课文内容。接着，展示火箭模型发射及降落等的图片，通过讨论这些图片来教授本课节生词和短语，并要求学生记住它们，并利用Let’s Do It! No.2的练习题巩固词汇。然后，由听课文回答问题进入对本课的学习。通过读后判断正误、读后回答问题、读课文找短语并翻译成汉语等环节逐步加深学习课文，并根据思维导图复述课文。再次，处理Let’s Do It! No.3 的写作题。最后，和同学们一起总结本课所学内容。本课先教授新学词汇为后面的学习扫清障碍，接着进行听说读写的训练，训练全面到位，从而提高学生的语言综合运用能力。

Step 1  Lead-in

Free talk.

Get the class to introduce their own hobbies.

Teacher can ask the class the following questions to lead them to talk：

         What’s your hobby?

         Have you ever joined a club?

         Have you ever built a model? What was it?

         Have you meet some difficulties while you build the model?

Step 2  Presentation 

1. Teach the phrase be made of and new words launch, adult, land, break and challenging by talking about the pictures.

Teacher says:

Look! What’s this? It’s a model rocket. It is made of wood and cardboard.

Teacher says:

Look at the six people. What are they doing? (They’re launching a rocket. ) Three people are children, and the others are adults.

Teacher says:

This is Paul’s rocket. It is landing. But, bad luck, he breaks it. So his hobby is challenging.

2. Get the class to read and remember the new words and expressions.
