设计说明 首先通过复习Reading,讨论关于Spud Webb的情况,来引入新课,呈现出相关的时间状语从句,通过一系列的讲解和练习,让学生掌握不同的连词的用法,学会各连词所引导的时间状语从句,并掌握与其相关的时态,学会用时间状语从句来表达自己的想法。 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 (1)掌握单词:career, against。 (2)掌握连词before, after, when, while, since, till, until, as soon as 和whenever引导的时间状语从句。 2.能力目标 (1)通过学习,掌握连词以及时间状语从句的用法。 (2)学会用时间状语从句来表达思想,培养写作能力。 3.情感目标 通过谈论学生自身的变化让他们懂得感恩。 重点难点 重点:学习生词和短语以及各连词引导的时间状语从句的用法。 难点:灵活使用生词、短语以及连词,学会使用时间状语从句。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Talk about Spud Webb. 2. Revise the sentences with adverbial clauses of time in the passage about Spud Webb. Lead in the clauses. ·While (he was) attending junior high, Spud tried out for the school team. ·When he finally got the chance, he scored 20 points in his first game. ·After he graduated, he was forced to play in another basketball league. ·He remained there for about a year before the NBA took notice of him. Step 2 Grammar A 1. Talk about the meanings and the uses of the conjunctions: before, after, when, while. (1)before意为“在……之前”, 表示主句动作发生在从句动作之前。 Close the windows before you leave the room, please. 在你离开房间前,请关上窗。 (2)after意为“在……之后”,表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之后。 I went to school after I finished my breakfast. 我吃完早饭去上学。 (3)when意为“当……时”,表示主句动作发生的特定时间。 The days get longer when spring comes. 春天来时,白天变长了。 (4)while意为“当……时”,引导的从句用进行时态,从句谓语动词必须是延续性动词。 While my sister was sweeping the floor, I was washing the dishes. 我姐姐扫地时,我在洗碗。 While the boys were playing football, it rained. 当男孩子们踢足球时,下雨了。 【注意】while 后面还可以跟表示状态的词。 While I was in Beijing, I visited a lot of places. 在北京的时候,我参观了很多地方。 【拓展】在含有when和while引导的从句的主从复合句中,当主句和从句的主语一致,并且从句中含有be动词时,从句可以省略主语和be动词。 When (she is) in trouble, she always asks for my help. 她遇到困难时总是向我求助。 While (I am) travelling, I like to buy some souvenirs. 旅游时我喜欢买一些纪念品。 2. Do the exercise on Page 54. Answers: 1 I go jogging every morning before I have breakfast. 2 After I practiced playing basketball for hours, I felt tired out. 3 I met Peter while (I was) waiting at the bus stop. 4 While (I was) watching TV, I received a call from my uncle. 5 I was ready to go to bed when my father came back from work. Step 3 Grammar B 1. Show sentences which have adverbial clauses by since, till and until. (1) You’ve been happy since I first met you. (2) Spud remained in another basketball league for about a year till/until the NBA took notice of him. (3) Do not wake me up until you finish your work. 2. Explain the usage of the conjunctions and the adverbial clauses by the words. (1)since 意为“自从……以来”,从句谓语动词用一般过去时,而主句的 谓语动词用现在完成时。 They have been friends since they were at primary school. 他们从小学起就一直是朋友。 (2)①till和until意为“到……为止”,一般情况下两者可以互换。until可 以放在句首或句中,而till不可以用在句首。 ②如果主句中的谓语动词是非延续性动词,必须用否定形式,即构成 “not…until”结构,意思是“直到……才(开始)”。 Walk till/until you see a white house. 一直走到你看到一座白房子为止。 I did not go to bed until I finished my homework. 直到做完作业我才上床睡觉。 3. Do the exercises on Page 55. Answers: 1 since 2 till/until 3 till/until 4 since 5 till/until 6 till/until Step 4 Grammar C 1. Show the sentences with the conjunctions as soon as and whenever. (1) It began to rain as soon as I left the house. (2) I can read books whenever I want to. 2. Give them some explanations. (1)as soon as意为“一……就……”,引导时间状语从句。时态遵循“主将从现”原则,即当主句时态为一般将来时时,从句用一般现在时表将来。 We began to work as soon as we got there. 我们一到那里就开始工作。 He will visit you as soon as he gets there. 他一到那里就会去拜访你。 (2)whenever意为“每当,任何时候”,whenever可以用every time替换。 He likes listening to music whenever he has time. 每当他有时间的时候,他喜欢听音乐。 3. Do the exercises (C1 and C2) on Page 56.
