设计说明

本单元是复习单元,集中总结和练习there be句型的基本用法,复习巩固本模块的重点单词、短语和句型。本课从指导学生朗读Language practice中的句子入手,引入语法的集中讲解,紧跟单元所设习题进行针对性训练。

通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

Step 1　Language practice

Present the key sentences to the class. Ask the students to read them with the whole class.

There are thirty students in my class.

Are there computers on everyone’s desk?

No, there aren’t.

Is there a map of the world?

No, there isn’t.

How many students are there in your class?

The library is on the left of the playground.

Step 2　Grammar summary

there be 句型

there be句型表示“某处有某物”，即表示存在关系,其构成是：

肯定句: There is +可数名词单数/不可数名词…

       There are +可数名词复数…

否定句: There is/are+not +n….

       一般疑问句: Is/Are+ there + n. +…？

       简略回答: Yes, there is/are.

       No, there is/are not.

注意: 系动词be的形式变化一般视其后名词的单复数而定。

Step 3　Practice

1. Get the students to work in pairs. Let them ask and answer the questions about their school.

2. Get the students to look at the picture and answer the questions.

3. Ask the students to complete the passage on Page 18.

Step 4　Around the world

1. Ask the students to read the passage of Around the world.

School age

In most countries around the world, children must go to school when they are 5 or 6 years old. Children in the UK go to primary school at 5, and go to secondary

school at 11. They can’t leave school before they are 16 years old.

2. Let the students discuss when they go to primary school and secondary school.
