设计说明 首先通过一首歌Friend导入本单元文章主题——朋友。通过自由谈话引导学生学习本课时新单词,利用书上的问题让学生对描述人物的外貌和性格特点的词句进行整体的学习,之后通过形容词的学习和听说练习让学生进一步掌握目标语言。最后将本单元文章中重点短语和句式提取出来让学生记忆和理解,并让学生通过小练习巩固所学知识。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握词汇:thirsty, honest, secret, joy, care, yourself, teenager, magazine, good-looking, humorous, polite, tidy, make, trust, lie, joke, true,keep a secret, care about。 2.能力目标 (1)学习用适当的词描述人物的外貌和性格特点。 (2)通过听说练,能简单描述好朋友的优良品质。 3.情感目标 进一步理解友谊,更多地了解他人的优良品质。 重点难点 重点:用形容词描述人的外貌和品质 难点:用固定句式描述人的外貌和品质 教学准备 PPT课件; Comic strip部分、B部分的听力录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Enjoy a song and ask students what is the song about. T:Hello, boys and girls, do you have a friend? Yes, of course, you do. As we know, every one of us should have at least one or two friends. Time seems to go faster when good friends are together. Step 2 Presentation 1. Have a free talk. Ask the students five questions to talk about their friends and present some words, phrases for them to learn. (1)Do you have a good friend? (2)How old is your friend?(呈现teenager) (3)What does your friend look like?(呈现good-looking, handsome...) (4)What is your friend good at?(呈现music, sports...) (5)Why do you choose him/her as your good friend? /What makes your friend so special?(呈现keep a secret, share my joy/ sadness, be honest/ helpful/ friendly/ clever...) 2. Lead students to read the new words and phrases three times or more. 3. Ask students to help Daniel match the qualities with the questions. Write the correct letters in the boxes.
Answers: 2-e 3-c 4-a 5-b 4. Ask the students to make sentences using the qualities and questions in Activity A. (1) My friend is ready to help so he/she is helpful when I have problems . (2) My friend is honest so I believe what he / she says. (3) My friend keeps a secret so I can tell him / her everything about myself . (4) My friend cares about me and makes me happy so I talk to him / her when I am sad. (5) My friend shares my joy so I talk to him / her when I am happy. Step 3 Consolidation 1. Have a short review of adjectives used to describe people. kind, clever, friendly, honest, funny, good-looking, polite, tidy, slim, rich, helpful, strong. 2. Have a discussion about What do you think are the important qualities of a good friend ? 3. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue and make a similar one. A: What makes good friends, ... ? B: Well, good friends should be... You can... because ... A: Yes, that’s very important. I think good friends should be ... too. They can ... B: Yes, that’s true. I also think good friends should be ... A: I agree. Step 4 Presentation 1. Ask the students to listen to the Comic strip and answer the following questions. (1)What does Eddie give Hobo? (2)Why does Hobo want something to drink? Answers: (1) A cake. (2) Because he is thirsty.
2. Ask the students to read the Comic strip and answer the following questions. (1)What else does Hobo want? (2)What is in the fridge? (3)What does Hobo want at last? Answers: (1) He wants some more food. (2) There’s nothing in the fridge. (3) He wants to share Eddie’s pizza in his bowl. 3. Practice. Ask the students to read loudly and try to act it out. Try to add an ending to it. 4. Have a discussion. Will Eddie share his pizza with Hobo? Two possible answers: Yes, he will share. Because good friends always share. No, he won’t. Because Hobo already has a big cake. Step 5 Language points 1. What makes your friend so special? 什么使你的朋友如此特别? make sb. +adj. 使某人…… This song makes him really sad. 这首歌使他很悲伤。 make sb. +do sth.使某人做某事 Max can always makes me laugh. 麦克斯总能使我大笑。 2. Do you believe what he/she says? 你相信他/她所说的吗? believe what he/she says=believe his/her words相信他/她说的话 You can believe what your best friend says. =You can believe your best friend’s words. 你可以相信你最好的朋友的话。 3. What makes good friends, Amy? 埃米,怎样才能成为好朋友? (1)此处疑问词what在句中作主语,谓语动词用单数形式。 What is very popular this year? 今年非常流行什么? (2)make此处作连系动词,意为“适合;成为”,其后常接名词性短语。 You will make a good teacher.你将成为一名好老师。 4.You can trust them because they never tell lies.你可以信任他们,因为他们从不撒谎。 Lie作“谎言”讲时,为可数名词。 tell lies与tell a lie同义,意为“撒谎”。 Don’t tell lies.= Don’t tell a lie.不要撒谎。 【拓展】lie作不及物动词,意为“说谎; 躺”。 lie-lied-lied-lying (撒谎) lie-lay-lain-lying (躺) Step 6 Homework 1.
