Lesson 14: Colours and Feelings
设计说明 首先,用机器人的图片复习表示身体部位的名词,利用思维导图复习Lesson 13的课文。接着,通过图片把颜色和情感结合起来,学习生词短语;并利用Let’s Do It! No. 1的听力导入Part 1的学习;通过读后回答问题、听录音找短语、跟读、自读,学习Part 1。结合不同活动的设置,锻炼学生独立解决问题以及合作探究的能力。然后,利用图片学习Part 2中的生词;并通过设问、读后填表、跟音诵读,学习Part 2的内容。这既能培养学生勤于思考的习惯,又能让他们体验英语诗歌的魅力。最后,处理本课节剩余的练习题,巩固本课节所学内容。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:question, sick, smile, mean 接触单词:singer, scared, wave 短语和句型:listen to, wave one’s hand, see red Blue/… can mean “sad”/... How can you feel a colour? Don’t be + 形容词./ Don’t do sth. 2.能力目标 (1)了解英语中不同颜色所表示的情感; (2)能用英语描述颜色和心情的关系。 3.情感目标 保持积极的心态、快乐的心情,开心度过每一天。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节重点单词、短语、句型。 2.难点:能用英语描述颜色和心情的关系。 教学准备 PPT 课件;表示身体部位的图片;表示生气、恐惧、生病和伤心的图片;与本课节相关的音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Review the body parts. Show the class the picture and let them spell the words of body parts. Say: Look at the robot. Please spell the words of body parts.
2. Check homework. Show the mind map to the class and get the students to retell the passage in Lesson 13.
Step 2 Presentation Teach the new words mean, scared, sick, feeling and phrases see red by discussing the pictures. T: What colour is…? Ss: It’s red/yellow/green/blue. T: How does it feel?/How do you feel when seeing it?/What’s wrong with the man?/How does it feel? Ss: It feels angry/I feel scared/He feels sick./It feels sad. T: So red means angry. (Teach mean and see red.) Yellow means scared. (Teach scared.) Green means sick. (Teach sick) Blue means sad. The words “angry, scared, sick and sad” express feelings. (Teach feeling.)
Step 3 Practice Get the class to practice the conversation according to the pictures (in Step 2). A: What colour is…? B: It is… A: What does red/yellow/green/blue mean? B: It means… Step 4 Presentation Teach the words singer, question and phrase listen to. T: Now, Li Ming is listening to an English song. He doesn’t know one of the singer’s words, so he asks Jenny the question.
Step 5 Listening and matching T: Now, listen to Li Ming and Jenny’s conversation and match the colours with the feelings. (Let’s Do It! No. 1) Answers:
Step 6 Reading and answering Get the class to read Part 1 and answer the following questions by themselves. 1. What does the singer say? 2. What’s Li Ming’s question? 3. What do we use for our feelings in English? 4. What does red mean in China? Ask them to check the answers in pairs. Let some pairs speak out their answers. Answers: 1. I feel blue. 2. How can you feel a colour? 3. Many colours. 4. Happy. Step 7 Listening, finding and translating Play the recording of the passage for the class to listen and find the following phrases and sentence, then translate them into Chinese. listen to _________________ an English song _______________ in the song _________________ How can you feel a colour? _________________ a good question _______________ use…for… ________________ in China ____________ Answers: 听……; 一首英语歌曲; 在歌曲中; 你怎么感觉到颜色?; 一个好问题; 把……用作……; 在中国 Step 8 Listening and reading 1. Get the class to read the conversation following the recording. 2. Let them read the conversation in pairs. 3. Let some pairs act out the conversation. Step 9 Presentation Teach the new words smile, wave. Show the pictures to the class and learn the new words by discussing them.
T: Is the girl happy? Ss: Yes. T: How do you know that? Ss: She is(微笑). T: Yes. She is smiling.
T: Look at the boy! What’s he doing? Ss: He is (挥手). He is saying hello. T: Yes. He is waving. Step 10 Reading and answering T: We know different colours mean different feelings. Now, read the chant and answer the following questions. How many feelings can you find in the chant? What are they? Answers: Five feelings. Sad, scared, angry, happy, sick. Step 11 Reading and filling Get the class to read the chant and fill in the blanks.
Answers (从左向右,从上向下): sick; Smile big. Wave your hand and say hello. Jump and play and feel happy. Step 12 Listening and chanting Play the recording of the chant for the class to listen and let them chant following it. Step 13 Exercises 1. Tick the correct meaning for each statement or question. (Let’s Do It! No. 2) 1. I am sick. I don’t feel well. □I am not happy. 2. Everyone has feelings. Everyone feels. □Everyone cries. 3. What does this word mean? Can you say this word? □What is the meaning of this word? 4. She smiles every day. She laughs every day. □She looks happy every day. Answers: 1. I don’t feel well. 2. Everyone feels. 3. What’s the meaning of this word? 4. She looks happy every day. 2. Four words in this passage are NOT right. Circle them and write the correct words on the blanks below. (Let’s Do It! No. 3) It’s my birthday today. I am so angry ! All of my friends will come to my house. But my friend, Jenny, doesn’t feel well. She is happy and she can’t come. That makes me feel tired. What do you like or not like to do? What makes you feel happy, sad, angry, scared or sick? Talk about it, write it down and draw a picture. (Let’s Do It!
